I like this mic, but the mic doesn't like my environment. Since it an Omni mic and my office is on a really loud and busy street, it just picks up way too much room and background noise. Its pretty horrible. Sound quality wise, its pretty much like my condenser mics. Which is to say it's good AND bad. Good, it sounds very crisp and clear. BAD, it pick up everything!
Sending it off to a friend that will be able to use it as he lives in the burbs on a very quiet street....

eneroI'm not sure how it is a bad that it picks up everything, when you heard what it can do and what kind of mic it is. That's like leaving a bad review on Amazon for an item that you didn't like but worked as advertised.

gilbsI don't know if its actually as simple and definitely not as malicious as you seem to be making it out to be. This was my experience, and I wrote it to because I wanted to share my experience with the group. There are people out there that don't know or really understand the difference between omni and uni directional microphones, and also who just like reading about what other people experienced with the product that they're interested in. I knew what I was getting my self into, to a certain degree, but the mic picked up far more room noise then I expected it to, and this was through a mixer with the gain turned down as far as it could go without loose my voice. Granted my case is probably exceptional as I live on a busy street and am seated just a few feet from the (closed) window, but nonetheless, it is a real world experience. I have an omni directional Modmic 4 and it picks up very little to no ambient/street noise. When I made the decision to purchase this mic, I knew that it was a unidirectional mic, but was told that it wasn't "too unidirectional" and that it would pick up "too much" ambient noise. That wasnt the case at all for me. So I dont know if your statement that it worked as advertised is actually true, at least for me. Sure, I could have also gone on about how the build quality was crap and the sticky pads are useless to bolster my case, but I think everyone else pretty much covered that. And didnt feel the need to pile on.

eneroI mean you realize everyone's definition of "too much" or "not too much" will be different. For 25$, I don't think there's a lot of room to complain... Sure the stick pads are shitty but I mean I''m sure they'll make it right by sending out replacements. Besides, that I think the build quality is great and feels a little premium, obviously the cable that attaches to the mic with the mute button might seem flimsy but getting some cable management cords would solve the issue. It's a 25$ mic, that's pretty much it. You could pretty much only complain about the claps they sent and a flimsy cord but, the voice quality is crazy good. I'm sure you could run the mic through something to get some noise suppression. Sorry you weren't happy with it, wasn't trying to make you seem malicious. :/
