I searched the discussion but could not find anything on the topic of using this microphone on a motorcycle. Does anybody know of a way to use a microphone and ear buds together on a smartphone? Would it be as easy as using a splitterplugged into the headphone jack of a smartphone and then plugging in the mic and the buds into the respective outlets of the splitter? I am trying to get away from buying a dedicated comm system as I mostly ride alone using my smartphone primarily to listen to navigate instructions, listen to music and block out the sounds. My helmet is quiet enough to make phonecards qwhile driving, thus using this mic would be a very cheap solution if I can work out the connection issues.

DesastorYep, that's the same as you would do plugging it to modern laptop. They use the same combined (4-pole) jack as phones. So yeah, splitter solves it. I used my Steelseries Siberia v2, which have separate jacks for headphones and microphone) like that with my phone.

DesastorThat seems like a cool idea but I fear that the wind may affect audio quality. Additionally, would the headphones you will be wearing have a button (to answer the calls and voice dialing)? Also there is the durability aspect to all of this. I own the mini mic and the audio is great in an controlled environment but the build quality is horrible. Lastly, if you ride in rain, that will be the end of the mic. I hope this helps!

ThranMaruYeah I assumed that as well but wind noise still gets into the helmet, some more than others. In my case my helmet is very loud it it wouldn't sound very good!

FranciscoRMy helmet is less than 82 decibels and thus phonecalls are doable. In fact, the Schuberth helmets are known to be the quietest ones on the block

ThranMaruYou are presuming correctly Sir :)
After I posted this, I realized that I have actually a Sennheiser mic at home that I used to use for medical dictations in addition to a bluetooth powered lapel one. Ill be playing around with those as they are of great build quality and I won't have to spend a dime to do it.
