Hi all,
I'd like to pair this amp with my ODAC (also from NwAvGuy, I'm a huge supporter of his work, the DAC is awesome beyond telling for such a low price). However I'm hesitating on which O2 version is the best for my use case.
- I will use the Sennheiser HD6XX from Massdrop. I hear they need ~2Vrms on NwAvGuy's blog.
- I'm using the DAC mostly at home (occasionnally in my car, powered by a Nexus 6P USB-C output), so I bought this DAC outfitted with RCA outputs, as it's more often than not driving a classic receiver+loudspeakers. (it's revA of this one: http://www.headnhifi.com/dac/odac-xl-version) Apparently, this DAC consistently outputs ~2Vrms from what I read on NwAvGuy's blog.
I'm thinking the O2 Desktop with medium gain (1X | 3.3X) is the way to go for me.
How I plan to use it: using very short RCA cables, I should be able to send ~2Vrms from the ODAC to the O2 (regardless of the digital source, the analog output of the ODAC should always output ~2Vrms, right? Phone or desktop PC should not matter?) and use the 1X gain setting to drive the HD6XX. Am I correct?
If Desktop O2 with medium gain is fine, then I'll get it here, otherwise I'll probably buy it from Head'n'HiFi. Unless there's a better amp to put in-between my ODAC and the HD6XX. Thanks anyone who can help me decide what to get! :-)

kosmosThe initial decision to purchase the o2 is not the best. I suggest you buy something like a magni 3.
