greeny24242I've seen multiple mentions of 110V only power supply, but then I follow the discussions of every drop I join, and I agree it should have been communicated better. A warning sticker on the power adapter saying "110V ONLY" would have been nice.
I haven't received mine, but glancing at the schematics online, there doesn't appear to be a fuse in the O2. There might be one in the adapter. Schematics :
Hopefully it is just the power adapter. You can check this without any further harm to the O2, if you have a multimeter, by measuring the output of the power adapter with the O2 disconnected and see what is the AC voltage output. If there's no output, it meant it took one for the team, hopefully quickly enough to spare the O2. Be very careful not to short the adapter when testing.

Why didn't MD put the information *front and centre* on the drop page!?
I think I got to it quickly enough to prevent any damage, but I've ordered enough electronics from overseas where the distributors automatically include a 230v capable adaptor or an alternative that I hooked this up without much concern.
Come on MD. If you are happy to take our Aussie dollars you should damn well provide the correct equipment at the checkout page.

TeliosMy unit's fried. Tested with a multimeter and correct power transformer, couldn't get a reading above 0.5v. When I asked the technician at jaycar what this meant he said 'Essentially it won't turn on'. We both laughed. I'm trying to talk this as calmly as possible because technically it is my fault for plugging in the wrong power transformer. If your red led light came on I would assume the same for you but get it tested. Appears neither the power transformer or the unit has a fuse, its a shame because an extra $0.25c and more information and this wouldn't have happened. I was under the impression from the comments we needed a power adapter, not a new power transformer. My 5 year wait for a headphone amp continues.

I'm not sure what you meant about power transformer / power adapter though. From what I can tell (since I *still* haven't received mine) the power adapter / wall wart / whatever you want to call it outputs 15V AC, meaning it is most likely just a step-down transformer. If you can find one in Australia that outputs 15V AC with the same (or better) wattage, and have the same connector, you should be able to use it.

nelsonIs anyone else having problem putting the batteries in? I got the recommend tenergy 9v and I cannot close it without forcing it to do so. It seem that the battery connectors are sightly higher than expected. Or is mine bad?

I tested my unit with the multimeter at work and attaching a dummy load to the output terminal, and came to the conclusion that as I wasn't actively amplifying when I plugged in for the first short time (<5 seconds) that it was very close to being damaged but only heated some of the wiring insulation.
I have since tested the unit with several sets of headphones at 10%->100% and found no issue using 2 x 9V batteries to power it. Am unsure if I will bother tracking down a compatible adaptor though.

Would the adapter pass the higher 230v through the cord to the unit and damage it or is there some kind of power element that could stop this? Really should of been more information now I'm really worried, it turned on for 5 seconds, I unplugged, replugged 2 mins later and nothing (obviously it wont come back on with wrong power)
Posting my story so others can at least be aware, trying to source a power adapter with 15V output for Australia now
