Let me provide a little information which might be of value to anyone considering this unit. I received mine two days ago from the last drop. I have to say that I was quite pleased with the performance. It's adds some real fullness and impact to sound from your computer. android phone or similar device. But I do recall there were quite a few complaints about the entry for the power supply being in the front rather than the rear. Maybe that will be addressed if it already hasn't been. But be aware of another potential issue regarding use. If you're going to go strictly AC, you're good to go. But if you intend to use it as portable powered by two rechargeable 9v batteries that it will accept but aren't provided, you're in for a surprise. The case is held together front and back by four very small philips flat head screws about 2mm across the threads and about 5mm tall. These have been inserted into the case so tightly at the factory that it's virtually impossible to remove more than one of two of them without stripping the triangle pattern. I know. I tried and a couple pro audio repair shops tried. So early next week I'm taking it to precision machinist who will drill them out, re-thread the openings for a larger black pan head screw and it'll be much more convenient to operate. And, yes, I did report this flaw to Massdrop customer support yesterday but haven't heard from them yet. Good luck. You're probably on your own.

INTELLIGENDAHave you been able to unscrew the thing yourself? Did you really have to have a precision machinist to drill the screws out? It's silly. Mine is the same as yours. Simply impossible to open the case to install batteries / clip resistors to change gain setting.

uloginIt concerns me that the screws might be too tight to remove, as others are reporting. I had planed to open the case and play with the gain resistors if Massdrop doesn't give us the option of specifying a reduced gain.
Can those from the previous drop please weigh in on whether or not they were able to remove the screws to open this case. Also, if you did open the case, let us know if the gain resistors were soldered in place. I've heard some assemblers use resistor clamps that allow the gain resistors to be easily swapped out.
Thanks!
