What would people say about this vs the xonar stx as I have one but with Windows ten driver support is pretty bad atm. So I'm still on Windows 7 for the time being. I already have a jdslabs o2 but it is portable version so if I run it with this I need to take the battery out first? The detail of the stx is great but has a odd sound stage. This I imagine has a more neutral one (not as close)?

rvcjewHey Rvcjew,
ODAC runs in USB 1 mode so no need for drivers, solves your windows 7/10 conflict.
Don't need to take the battery out of your amp to run this, they're separate boxes, just park the O2 on top and attach the inputs.
ODAC is one of the most neutral DACs you can buy, especially at the entry level.

WillThanks Will I meant that I have a an o2 portable ed. so it has the 9 volt in it and I looked it up and it seems if I plan to start using my o2 as strictly a desktop unit then I should just take out the battery first so it does not degrade is all. My o2 is also rca in so I will need to get a 3.5 to rca adapter but that's not hard, and like you stated earlier I can use this for the o2 for headphones then have the true rca on this go out to my stereo component of the 5.1 AVAMP I have as well. I currently have to swap a 3.5 adapter over manually to swap to either source as the zone 2 of my AVAMP generates way to much heat at idle to be practical in my small living space atm. Only thing i'm worried about is possible signal drop as my pc is about 15 feet away from where the dac will be. Hope a simple usb A to mini usb A is sufficient. Thanks for your reply.
