Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

The Modi 2 Uber probably has a better/more robust design and should result in better audio quality. It has a lot more inputs as well, which can help depending on your use case. Whether that's worth an extra $50 is up to you.
The Magni 2 Uber provides more power and also a passthrough for powered speakers.
I went for a Fulla 2 + Magni 2 since I wanted to stay around the $200 limit instead of $300+. Went with the Fulla 2 over the Modi 2 for the extra features(variable out to control speakers) and the fact that it's a detachable standalone unit which I can bring around with me.
Oh, thought I should add this too. The Fulla 2, Magni 2, and Modi 2 have a matte steel finish. The Magni 2 Uber and Modi 2 Uber have brushed aluminum finishes. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so having a matching stack was pretty much necessary for me.
If your budget is around $100, I gladly recommend: Schiit fulla 2 (Usb powered) -No need to buy extra cables if you already have micro-usb cables, Tons of features.
$200 What SomeTechNoob recommended, a Fulla 2 with a Magni 2(personally recommend Uber ed- $50 more for MORE POWAR) -NOTE: 3.5mm cable to Dual rca needed here to output fulla 2 to magni 2
The difference is that magni 2 has significantly more driving power when compared to the fulla 2, therefore can drive headphones like the 6xx well. However, fulla 2 reviews show that the sennheiser 6xx is driven exceptionally well also. Magni 2 uber recommended if you want MORE POWAR and will be upgrading to more headphones that need more power.
$260 Here I can gladly recommend the Aune x1s. Exceptionally musical amp and dac combo, whereas the fulla 2 and the rest of Dac and amp combos I will be recommending are more clean and output exceptionally uncoloured music, analytical and neutral. Do note that the aune has similar power to the O2, much less than the schiit magni 2 uber. -Usb cable provided
$280~$300 range Dominated by the O2 Dac and amp combo. Provides very similar sound when compared to the schiit fulla 2 and magni 2 uber, however this is a more elegant all in one unit like the aune. Much less power when compared to the magni 2 uber. -Mini-usb cable needed
Was reading up on O2 DAC/Amp combo. Great single unit. I don't want too many cables and a stack next to my 25" monitor. I want something that can drive the HD6XX so that I can enjoy the music. I think my ATH-M50x serves me well enough for the near-neutral sound that I can enjoy. So here's the deal.
My budget is $300 and I'm torn between O2 DAC/Amp combo and Schiit stack. Need a DAC/Amp combo to drive my HD6XX cans and planning to buy Audioengine A2+ for my desk. Won't be upgrading headphones any time in coming two years at least. Will read up more on Aune x1s. Had totally forgot about it, so thanks for reminding me.
Almost bought Chord Mojo twice but backed out mostly because it has a battery.
But really audio is subjective, if you tried a DAC and claims that it makes no difference, then its up to you to whether a DAC changes audio or not. Always try sound before you believe whether it matters or not.
I'm sorry mate, I'm an empiricist and that is just bullshit. It is not 'up to you whether a DAC changes audio or not'. Unless you can tell the difference in a double blind test consistently, there is no meaningful difference for listening to music. This a fact, it doesn't matter whether using a better DAC makes you feel good, if you cannot tell the difference without seeing which DAC is producing the signal there is no practical difference. You are literally using the arguments flat-earthers and climate change deniers use to debate scientific evidence.
