Should I exchange the PC38X for better headphones?
I bought the PC38X headphones FOR GAMING and they are great, but I have NO use for a Microphone since I don't do competitive gaming and I was wondering if there were better headphone options at a similar price without a headphone, where (presumably) more of the cost was put into making it sound better. I also find that my PC38X don't get quite as loud as I would like and I was wondering if a cheap amp like the iFi Go link would draw a little more volume out of my phones. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BN6MM822?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I went with the PC38X since it was considered the best bang for buck headphones. Looking for a gaming/content audio setup
Hello! I'm looking for recommendations on audio setups. I'd be planning on using it mostly for gaming. Preferably I'd like a pair of large closed back headphones since I have a big head and jaw. I'd also like to hear myself through my mic with mic monitoring. As far as budget goes, I don't really have one. But under 600$ would be nice. I can go higher if needed. The audio setup would be connected to a high performance PC. Thank you in advance for any recommendations!

$10 Drop Coupon Email not sent?
Trying to buy some gear off Drop for the first time. I was told I would receive an email with a welcome to drop $10 off promo. I never received that email. Drop was able to send me emails for my login token and email for Password update. But for some reason the $10 off coupon was never sent to me.

Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.

I feel like you know what’s coming next! :) We’re adding another drop point at 5,000 orders, at which point the drop will revert to match the pricing of the first drop back in November. This means that the drop will be $199.99 with free shipping to the US and $15 shipping per unit internationally. We’ll be sending an email update to members who have already joined the drop. All existing drop participants will be charged the new price of $199.99 and not $249.99. I know I’ve said in prior posts that there won’t be a price change, so I owe everyone the story of what we’ve been working on behind the scenes. From the start of the drop, the team here and I have been collecting the feedback from the community, seen through both the comments in the discussion and, more importantly, the performance of the drop. Not all feedback is vocal and the choice to participate (or not) in any drop provides crucial information both to us and to collaborators like Sennheiser. At the end of the first day, we collected all the performance metrics and community comments from the drop and sent them to Sennheiser. Since then, we’ve been on multiple calls with our partners at Sennheiser, who have been very gracious and are blown away by the passion of the community. To show their appreciation for the support, they’ve chosen to forgo their margin requirements on this product and will offer it at the original launch pricing once the drop reaches 5,000 units. Additionally, they’ve taken the feedback about limits per person into account and have agreed to increase it. Each member can now purchase up to three (3) HD 6XXs. I will be missing out on this as I already ordered my HD600's. Maybe in the future, should they ever return, they can come back at the $199 mark again.
With that sort of lead time you could take 500 of us MassDroppees to Ireland - train us and build the entire run in a few weeks. But, then you have the problem of getting us out of Ireland and its pubs. So there's that.

For reference, the first run took as long to make, we just offered them to the community later in the process. This wait is the same as that wait, but now you know you're waiting vs blissful ignorance. It's six of one half a dozen of the other in objective terms, but that's not how it feels as a consumer.

Where will the units be shipped from? I live in the Netherlands and this is important as import taxes are high (>20% for items over $40) and need taken into account as well.

How will I "be charged the lower price when the drop ends" when may account has already been debited for $249.99? 06/28/17 PURCHASE PAYPAL *MASS XXXXXXXXXX CA CARDXXX $249.99
Make a note that our credit cards won't be charged for 4 months, so that the process lines up, and there will be less complaints. People are okay with waiting 2 months after being charged, and apparently that works for the "process" so why do you need money 4 months before that this time?
As far as shipping is concerned, everyone wins. Whether US getting free or international paying 15 it still ends well below 250. This announcement is a positive for everyone, everyone is saving money. Conspiracy theories do nothing but stir up drama about something they've been up front with us about from the beginning of the drop. They said 250, december shipping, and the only change has DROPPED its price considerably (whether or not you have to pay the 15 dollar shipping charge).
And if this is such a travesty, don't support it any further with your money. Make a stand!
As far as the price, yes, there will either be a refund/credit on paypal if it already debited, or will change to 199.99 (+ shipping if international) if still in authorization when it comes time to charge.
And just make a handsome profit instead of a disgusting one!
PS: I know about 3rd party forwarder n have used it before, but it's such a hassle n more expenses needed... Can't you guys do something about it? Thx.
At $199, this is a truly great deal that shouldn't be missed (especially with no tax or shipping). Weird because for only $50 more, it seemed a bit meh.
I think there is an issue with changing the shipping address from a US one to an international one. I can increase my quantity but I can't change the shipping address.
But I think about it like this...I'm not in the hurry...and I've waited 6 months to see this deal pop up again so what's another 6? As I said, if it were $249 and a 6-month wait? Forget it. I can only endure one of these things #firstworldproblems.
Now that they've reverted to the original $200 price there is less profit margin available (and no bitter pill to compensate for) so they have also reverted to charging an international shipping fee to help cover the extra cost of shipping internationally.
If the 6xx come in a similar box to the regular 600/650 then $15 will be lucky to cover the additional cost of shipping internationally vs shipping within the US. It's a very reasonable shipping fee and it means that now US buyers aren't subsidizing the cost of shipping to buyers outside the US.
Also wow, 11,500 limit and extended time. This is turning into a much better drop.
It seems like that the MD backend order system has not been updated with the option to select International shippment (+$15).
I can't amend the address of my drop from my US forwarder address to my local Singapore address.

Woke up this morning and received an email from you guys, was kinda confused when I saw the title. i immediately thought I joined the wrong drop(was contemplating some other stuff as well). Rushed to my laptop and got a very pleasant surprise :)
Many thanks for your work to give us customers the best deal. This is a classic example of putting the customer first; i am telling you now, this HD6xx will definitely not be my first purchase from you guys!
With regards to the long waiting time, I am quite sure most people are not familiar with how Massdrop operates.It wasn't designed in the image of eBay or Amazon. The reason we are getting such competitive prices from MD is because of the fact that all of the our orders are gathered in bulk. This is basic economics, more order, more overall profit, lower price.
We are already enjoying an absolutely absurd discount of more than 50%, with free shipping for the folks in the states (I'm in the EU)..Of course you can say stuff the 6 months wait isnt worth it as you can prob purchase it on the spot on Amazon or what, Well my answer to you is then go and purchase it on Amazon. I am sick and tired of people blasting MD in their own forum..terribly toxic for the audio community.
And with regards to the us EU folks, the VAT and import tax is really a pain the arse but hey, even calculated with the highest rates in EU (say 20-21%), we are still paying a net of around 250-260 USD. And that is a huge ass discount as well! Of course the handling fees could be even lower if MD *cough* use USPS instead of *cough* DHL.
With all that being said, thank you Will and Team once again for this drop and I hope everyone in this drop can thoroughly enjoy this fantastic pair of cans!
However I only saw it because someone had posted on reddit rather than through MD. I was terrified when I saw the link that all would be taken again.
Based on my calculations it should be in total around £215 (166*1.2*1.015+13.5)
But that last charge depends on who handles the paying up front.
Also need to add in courier handling fee. TBH, I will be happy with anything under £250 in total
I used the example of $250 to demonstrate that the conversion rate isnt what you get in google, not to state what I would pay. Which of course factors into the overall calculation
If either Sennheiser or Massdrop shipped these to EU customers direct from Ireland then they'd have to charge GST/VAT on top of the sale price, and they haven't done that so there's no chance of shipping direct from Ireland now even if they had the facility to do so.
Was more than happy when I opted in at just below £200 but this takes it down to just over £150 now. The savings will more than cover the costs of VAT and any import charges that are raised when they get here. So very happy with this news!!!!

You may be able to call your credit card company to add a authorized address. Explain the situation and maybe they can help you.
Source: I work for the e-commerce end of a retail store and we see this happen often. At least in Canada.

Yeah, the transactions are being completed now. Which means I just need to cry myself to sleep over how much money I managed to spend in a single week (I also took part in the Gigabyte 1080 drop), hope that all that trafic doesn't cause my bank to suspect a card abuse, and figure out what to get my mom since I just got mine and my dads Christmas presents.
The big issue is, they are sending them via DHL, which doesn't even give you a chance to go through customs yourself (even if its pain in hell) and they charge 2% of the package price (min. 19€!) just because they deal with it for ya... I Its sad as postal service charges only about 8€ for same service...
So yeah, two big price increases are TAX and somebody else going through customs for you even if you do not want them to. That means that for me it was probably my last drop I was a part of for a long time, as their drops usually are not that good to be worth trying to order from MD in EU.
Right now I paid 383,74 € for 2x HD 6XX, which is 191,87 € for pair of headphones including shipping. That isn't bad as they cost 350€ here, but once you include 21% TAX, its 232,1627 €, then add 3% customs (239,127581 € ) and 2% or 19€ that DHL will take and you are at 258,127581 € for one pair of headphones or 497,255162 € for two of them ( 113,515162 € paid on TAX and customs and to DHL)...
So basically you should still save about 90€ per pair of HD 6XX compared to purchasing them here, but sadly this is one of really really few good drops for EU people that MD has done.
I live in Ireland, where these are manufactured, is it possible to have them shipped from Ireland to save on postage costs and/or time? Or could I even collect them?
