What would be a great amp for the Sennheiser HD6XX? How about a great amp for headphones period? I researched this to death...wanted an endgame amp as I knew I would collect multiple headphones. I have headphones, including the Sennheiser, that range from 8ohm to 600ohm. I have a questyle 600i headphone amp/dac. easola01Most of the people here waited to get these headphones at $199.99 because they want good sound on the cheap. I highly doubt that the vast majority of them are going to buy that DAC/amp combo. Not to mention that it's incredibly overkill for these headphones and won't make them objectively sound better than something half the price.

easola01At $1299 this is not for people just stepping into their first quality headphones... most people with multiple cans on this buy probably have their DAC/amp of choice already

YusakuGoAgain, maybe...maybe not. This is my first foray, not only for headphones, but for a high end audio system. You are attempting to speak for people you don't know. I purchased the questyle precisely because it would set me for multiple cans. What people plan for in their audio cannot be put into one box. Some will be tight on their budget, some not.

easola01I think his point is that you should probably buy better headphones if you're going to pair them with a $1299 amp, otherwise you've got yourself a real expensive conversation piece since you're not really getting any benefit from it with these headphones.
Since it's your "first foray" and clearly budget is a meaningless word for you, perhaps consider returning these and invest a few more hundreds into headphones that will synergize with your amp, rather than using it as a super expensive volume control knob which would likely be the case with these.
Notice that on their website w/ example cans, they list the HD800, not the HD6XX. That's a ~$700-800 price difference.

schoolbusSomething I have discovered about "audiophiles", is that they seem to get great satisfaction out of nit-picking people's comments and opinions...even if they have little relevance. Look, I have, in addition to the upcoming sennheisers, a set of focal elears and final audio design sonorous vi headphones..as well as a pair of beyerdynamics. People so easily miss the point. My point, for a 3rd time now, is the questyle is an outstanding amp for those who want an amp to accommodate and drive any set of cans they might want now and in the future. And yes, it is an amp, as it is a current driven amp, that would benefit the Sennheiser as well...the hd650's being their flagship can from 2003 to 2009

easola01Your statements are kind of ironic. Your entire post is "help me find an AMP? but halfway through the comment I forgot to reveal I already found something and this is a humble brag that I have a $1299 amp?"
And then the first comment is "yeah they'll work, but you either spent too much on your amp or too little on your headphones" which is completely fair.
Usually people post neat little insight into equipment that suits the headphones that are being dropped.
Your post is just acknowledging that you can drop a pretty piece of change on an AMP and pair them with headphones that won't get the true benefit of it.
It's like if this was a drop for seat belts and you posted "Anyone know of a car to put these in? I researched this to death and now drive a Lamborghini- which is the best car!"
If you didn't want critical critique you should've phrased your post better, otherwise your post is just humble bragging & perhaps you even work for Questyle

schoolbusYou do a lot of assuming, and you still miss the point. Not bragging, you said I should get better headphones for that amp. I displayed to you that I do. A 4th time, this is an amp that will accomodate any headphone (and to prove I am not from questyle, so will most schiit products). That was my point, and obviously directed only at those whose budget allows. I am not the audiophile god, so if you take out a loan, or over extend your credit to buy the amp based upon my comment that is on you. If you are an audiophile looking for an amp, AND you value flexibility for future purchases, this is a good way to go

Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?

Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Recommendation for my next headphone set? I have Koss 95x

Hey all, What would you recommend I get next and why? I have Koss ESP-95x electrostatic massdrop headphones. These are my first and only audiophile set. I love them. I think my only real requirements is $500 or less for the headphones and that they have a little more low end. I don’t need thump but these are really light on lows…but the experience is still awesome. Also any recommendations on an amp? I only have my electrostatic thingy. I am using the Topping D50 DAC. thx!!

Should I exchange the PC38X for better headphones?

I bought the PC38X headphones FOR GAMING and they are great, but I have NO use for a Microphone since I don't do competitive gaming and I was wondering if there were better headphone options at a similar price without a headphone, where (presumably) more of the cost was put into making it sound better. I also find that my PC38X don't get quite as loud as I would like and I was wondering if a cheap amp like the iFi Go link would draw a little more volume out of my phones. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BN6MM822?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I went with the PC38X since it was considered the best bang for buck headphones.
