I am curious if the head band is the same as the regular HD650.. size/build wise. On the HD650 I am at a click or two from max, so I want to make sure there isn't a redesign on that part of the phones that would make them too small. I know the cable was shortened, but I hope that is the only change, apart from cosmetic that was made.

NeverPayStickerBy all reports these are HD650 with a different paint job. I can't imagine them retooling anything to make them smaller.

HeeftyThanks, I happened to come across an opinion that the HD6xx felt cheaper for some reason. It was contrary to what I have read, so I'm happy that it's only paint.

NeverPayStickerOnly paint I can confirm. Please don't start any irrelevant rumors. These are 100% 1st quality Sennheiser Hd650 rebranded to Massdrop's demand, with midnight blue (blue/black) color and a 6ft. removeable cable with 3.5mm end + 1/4 inch end adapter. If you need, and most people won't need, you may replace the cable with the Hd650 original 10ft. cable with 1/4 end + 3.5mm adapter, available direct from Sennheiser parts (got mine from Sennheiser Canada, under 20$). Hd600 cables are also fully compatible (10ft. Cable with 3.5mm end + 1/4 adapter). It even comes with the nice looking original hd650 box set. The only difference is the throw away cardboard cover which is black and white with Massdrop's logo. Oh, yes, another major difference: the price!

tessierpg Thanks for the reassurance. Honestly, I wouldn't read anymore into this other than me having a question in the hopes some members with more knowledge than I would chime in. My question has been answered twice, and I am satisfied that the specs are the same for the build so that I can buy with confidence. That is the extent of my interest. Cheers
