Guys, completely new to all this so go easy on me.
i ordered the HD6xx but can't wait until December (just super excited) so .. I am looking for some help to decide on the below scenario.
Do I; 1. buy the K7xx for $225 (inc Delivery) along with maybe a relatively cheap portable amp (£60) to use until Dec and the HD6xx and then purchase a tube amp (£100-150) or schiit stack £300. 2. buy the Sennheiser HD700 for £250, currently on offer as these are open box / ex display with limited use and get the Schiit stack. 3. Or just be a good boy and wait until the HD6xx arrive and invest in better amps. Again tube or schiit stack of some sort.
In summary what I am asking here is, are the HD700 at that price a steal over the K7xx? Is the sound signature similar between the HD6xx and the hd700 that for variety I'd be better off going for the K7xx? To have a different sound experience.
In terms of music genre I mainly listen to hip hop but vairous other music like pop, house and blues and love deep punchy bass.

HitzI think all of your chosen headphones are really bad for hip hop and for deep punchy bass. Open backs in general are not really good for bass.
Honestly you should probably buy the Nad Viso HP50 for $141, it's on clearance sale right now. Or the ATH-M50X.

HitzI'd wait for these they are considerably better than the K7XX. AVOID THE HD 700s LIKE THE PLAGUE. The HD 700s are one of the most hated headphones among audiophiles, they are terrible headphones.

Panzer17M50Xs are terrible. One of those products that are over hyped and everyone buys even though it's crap The M40Xs are actually a way better headphone. The highs on the M50Xs are WAY to pronounced and they are fatiguing to listen to.

HitzI've heard good things about the Originative2 amp with the 6XXs. It's not carry-around-using-it-in-your-pocket portable, but it's pretty small and durable. Just make sure to get it with a 1/4" jack.

Hitz@Cokeman @poseidon0025 @Panzer17 hey guys, thank you for all the quick replies. I will look up the suggested items.
I was on the fence for the HD700 as the reviews and feedback seem split but will probably avoid them then.

HitzIf you want my honest opinion go get yourself a pair of monoprice m1060s. I have the k7xx and the hifiman he 400i if you want very good sound on a budget cant beat the m1060 period.
