Perhaps a moderator can allude to how the team is preparing the quality control of all these orders. I, too, read about the quality control issues of the AKG line. I chose to read up on the posts/comments of the 1st sennh. drop and decided to take the chance. Not because they were $199, (I could have paid the $320 to Amazon and had them in 2 days) but to have the chance to get in on something great, something that not everyone has.
I am crossing my fingers that I will be a kid again come XMAS morning.

hagenhaysThere is no quality problems with these, we already know that. These are made in the same factory as the 650s with the same process. The reason why the K7XX had quality issues is because the K712s that they were a rebrand of are made in Austria, and the K7XX was made in China to get the price down.

James-cooperWhat about the fostex thxx stop on here?? I want a different signature than the sennis, kind of like 2 different pairs of work shoes....both professional, but totally different look. Has anyone heard fostex compared to sennheiser? Thanks.

hagenhaysThe E-mu teaks are made by creative, and yes I'm guessing you mean the th-x00 fostex they would be a good set to go with for a different signature but have heard they are a little base heavy, if you like that go for it but for an overall "better" sound signature and removable cable the e-mu teaks are a solid choice, I haven't got mine yet so take this opinion with a pinch of salt as iv only seen reviews but a lot of people prefer them over the fostex variants, and apparently arnt selling them off there own backs at the moment as they plan to do another drop on here soon

James-cooperSo the emu is a massdrop item as well--currently not dropping? What are the main reasons people think these are better than the fosstex drop? I'm ok with extra bass....i think it will be a nice contrast to the sennheiser hd6xx drop. Not heard the 650s before but I have heard the 598s, and apparently the 650/6xx blows the lower tier away.

hagenhaysI think one of the big reasons in the detachable cable, that was my main reason anyway, as I have broke headphones before because of non detachable cables. And a more refined sound so I have heard from reviews here and there, I know zreviews and inner fidelity on YouTube have both pretty much said the same thing in regards to prefering them over the fostex, obviously there isnt that many reviews as i dont think they have sold many yet with them not being a well established headphone, so you would have to scour the internet to find some opinions but you will probably see more reviws coming soon as they have just sold 450 more on here and are to a lot of people regarded as one of the best headphones about, they are also classed as semi open somehow even with the wood backs some sort of reverberated sound out through the pads , don't ask me how as I'm no audiophile but they are, if I was you I'd watch a few YouTube reviews and look up a few reviews online I.e super best friends audio and headfi make your own decision like me I don't take spending that amount of money lately but I'm confident I have a great set of cans on the way

James-cooperI think i am going to jump on these if/when they drop again. The rosewood looks lovely. Do you think they will sound different enough from the sennis?
Are you planning on getting the emus?
