A Schitt stack is probably the best for around $250. You don’t want to use these on the go because of the sound leakage and everyone around you will know what you are listening to.
O2+ODAC might be a better option for you if you were after portability, it comes in one box rather than two boxes on the Schiit Stack. If you were into DIY, you could also mod them for batteries.
Thanks I was thinking about the Schiit stack but I want to be able to take these headphones around with me, I don't really care if ppl hear it, does that make me a douche lol? People are so consumed with their stuff anyways. But I would like them for like bike rides and walking around on the street so I can hear my surrounding
That kind of portable solution will be expensive indeed. I'd look into a Chord Mojo ($500), iFi iDSD BL ($550) or WA8 ($1800). But none of these would be able to power the HD6XX like a much cheaper desk amp. I'd also look into a CEntrance portable ($350+). I suppose you could get a FiiO but then the HD6XX would be a waste of a pairing.
Dang those are pretty expensive.. Maybe I could look into modding a O2+ODAC. Are there solutions that are powered by usb, maybe I could carry one of those with a battery bank, like an Anker or something?
The original CEntrance DACPort Classic is powered by USB and would have decent power output for a HD6XX, it doesn't have its own battery and would be a quite a power hog I'd expect, so you'll definitely need a power bank for those.
