Hello, I joined the drop and am still confused with power rating and ohms required for HD6xx and my amps.
I have two amps. ELAC integrated amp: it has headphone out also I have Fiio E12 MB (amp). Will any of these be sufficient to drive HD6xx.
062bel313Hey! From my understanding the headphones still sound good even off an iPhone, but they will sound there absolute best when paired with a decent amp/dac. I have the HD600 and they sound good off my iPhone but volume is near max! Then powered off my fiio e10k they sound (imho) much better with a more full sound and separation of instruments. But regardless I think you will be happy with the clarity and loudness from the components you have to power them :) FYI better audio files cd quality sound better on these then MP3 format. So glad I jumped on this drop!!
062bel313These amplifiers usually use the same components used to amplify your speakers, to amplify your headphones, it's not a good match and usually will make your headphones sound flabby. Headphone amplifiers are a necessity for headphones, and as Kenny said, anything will make a HD6XX sound good.
Jkenny34Unfortunately, I tried my iPhone 7 Plus on the HD 650, and they didn’t sound very good: weak without much volume, which I expected. I got the Aune B1 to pair with these HD 6XX when they arrive. Hoping this is a good combo!
PipperYeah it's definitely not the best you can get just off your phone, but it was just ok not ideal. I was thinking about getting the dragonfly black for using them with my iPhone. I hear it's pretty darn good for 100.00. The Aune I think will be a great pairing though for sure:)
