TeslafrontHere they were 200, but I would happily pay upwards of 300 if I needed to. A good price would be around 300, but its definetely worth more.
For a pair of used 6xx's, you shouldn't pay anything over 200.

AbhiramCNew HD650s retail for $500. $300 is a pretty good sale price. If I found 650s on sale for $300 I wouldn't have bought these cans (not a big fan of paying and waiting...)

TeslafrontPad - Clamp: K7xx has lightest clamp while m1060 and x2 have light to moderate clamp while 6xx clamp way too much (6xx clamp mod)! - Pad size: All fit fine. Some may touch ear a little like the x2 while k7xx a little bigger. - Pad quality: Not sure if m1060 is leather. X2 and k7xx are both memory foam with good velour. 6xx is cheaper springy foam with cheaper velour. = Pad comfort: k7xx >= x2 > m1060 > 6xx. = Pad quality: m1060 > x2 = k7xx > 6xx. (how long the pads may last).
Head band - x2 and k7xx is both auto adjustable and good quality. I like the x2 headband better even tho they are slightly heavier. k7xx strap is just leather but is comfy actually. 6xx and m1060 is weird shape and after a 1 hour or 2 it starts to get uncomfortable. = Headband comfort: x2 >= k7xx > 6xx => m1060. = Headband quality depends: x2 and k7xx straps may wear down (k7xx known problem, not x2), m1060 strap may come loose, while 6xx system will last the longest, but the padding glued on will not.
Audio - I still need more hours to test. Also I need to buy an amp (and dac) because I am only using mobo audio from asorck x370 gaming k4 as of right now. Also I sold my x2 a while ago and going off of memory, needed funds to try other headphones. (he4xx getting soon). = First impressions (break in period): m1060 >= x2 > k7xx > 6xx. - m1060 and x2 being less dark sounding. m1060 is a little weird tho where the audio almost sounds 3d holographic (bit depth and sound stage is what the extra 100 dollars help). = For around $200 to $300 they all sound equally good tho with slight differences. 6xx is slightly harder to drive, maybe thats why its so low on the list btw.

TeslafrontThe price is a bargain, if they were over $1k I would still buy them because to me they are the most coherent headphone ever. We can talk about the treble, the mids and the bass, but just because you have a headphone excels in some area doesn't make it coherent. This headphone doesn't exaggerate anything and everything sounds natural, as opposed to say a HD800 that has a huge soundstage but it sounds incoherent as if the bass, mids and treble are all coming from different places. Have a read of this, skip to the conclusion - the guy have endless praises for the HD600/650 for pretty much the same reasons: https://www.innerfidelity.com/content/big-sound-2015-participant-report-hands-tyler
Their greatest weakness IMO is their slow decay, which makes music more smooth and intimate sounding but isn't everyone's cup o tea.

JackulaHaven't heard them yet myself, but I've read the complaints about slow decay could be just due to people not used to a darker sound; i.e., brighter tones resolve more recognizably but not necessarily faster. Thoughts on that?

eabarthBrighter sound can be perceived as faster, and darker sound as slower, but it's not always related to the speed of the decay. For example, the Audeze LCD-3 is an even darker headphone than these, but it has much faster decay in comparison.

TeslafrontOn a desktop mobo, they can all get loud and sound much better than $100 range headphones.
I don't think your phone will not be able to get them loud enough and they might not sound good, so an amp would probably be needed.
To get a decent portable amp one needs to spend at least $200. For around $200 you can get a pretty good desktop solution but you will lack portability. https://www.reddit.com/r/Zeos/comments/66xylk/guide_dac_amp_combo_units/
If you do buy an x2, they definitely sound the most neural (v shape) to me. You can get one off of ebay (k7xx go cheap too) for around $100-150. Amazon sometimes have a coupon for $50 off when you apply for their card, be warned tho it will not work if you don't have any credit history. Also for the fidelio x2 they added a new HR version. I had the older non HR version and one of the reasons I did sell it is because I might buy the HR version some day.

TeslafrontI just remembered that the x2 are pretty big and when you put them on you may feel goofy wearing them out in public for portability. I think the 6xx looks the least goofy.
