Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.

The HD 660 S was actually tuned to have the same frequency response curve as the HD 650, but with a new driver based on our advancements from higher end models (like the HD 700 and 800) to deliver higher resolution and transient response, with less distortion. We love the HD 650’s tuning, but we found that we can apply our accumulated knowledge to create a better performing HD 650. In the 14 years since the release of the HD 650, we have changed our measurement coupling, but the HD 660 S is more efficient to drive (half the Ω impedance and more sensitive).
With the high performance but closely matched FR of the HD 660 S to the classic HD 650, we are eager to continue reading sound impressions from all over the world! Meanwhile, the Massdrop Edition HD 6XX has increased the accessibility for more people to hear for themselves what our former production flagship is all about.
For those curious or on the fence about which one the get, the debate still lies between the HD 600 (neutrality) vs HD 6XX/650/660S (more fun). Since the 6XX is exactly the same as the 650, why would someone not pay $$$ less and since the HD660S is a moneygrab attempt at new Sennheiser customers who aren't into the whole amping audiophile gig yet, why would anyone pay $500 when the HD6XX exists.
In short, it comes down to HD 600 vs HD 6XX. Ignore the rest. I prefer the HD600 sound, but the HD6XX is an astoundingly good deal and I would have gotten it in a heartbeat if I didn't have my baby HD600 already.
