What type of music is this best for?
How about metal and electronic dance music?

rossoneriThese are best suited for instrumental music, jazz, classical, light rock, and certain pop. These are not extremely bassy which is what you typically want for pop, rap, or EDM.

rossoneriIt works well for anything, really. I personally use my 650 to listen to synthwave, hard rock, and metal - which, arguably, are the genres of music that people often say that the 650 is NOT good at handling. The one thing that you'll have to keep in mind, is that the 650 is tonally warm compared to other headphones. It might not pack large bass punch compared to other headphones, and it also has a slight treble roll off. But, on the plus side, you'll never have listening fatigue, and you'll be able to listen to music for hours on the headphone.
Do keep in mind, that you'll really need a good DAC/AMP to bring out the best in this headphone (I'm using an XDuoo XD-05 DAC/Amp). Surprisingly, I find that the bass improves significantly when connected directly to my Sound Blaster ZxR card.

rossoneriIf you need something cheaper, look at the HD 598. It has an incredible sound stage, and works pretty well for pop, rap, EDM. It's not as accurate as the HD 650, but you won't need an amp for it.
