Mine are set to arrive soon, I'm split between buying the Modi 2 uber vs Modi multibit. It's $130 more for me due to currency exchange, is the difference between the two worth the extra cost and warm up time?

audbleOnly way to know if for you to hear both yourself, some will say yes some will say no. But from what I've seen the majority prefer the MB.

E111Unfortunately there's no way for me to try them out, but I've heard good things about multibit too. Might have to go with that.

audbleI went with the magni 3, modi 2u stack. I am also going to try the interprose rigid connect. Someone on this thread mentioned it.

I am in the October group. This is my 1st foray into hifi headphones. I am about $500 into this experiment lol. I chose to get my feet wet before diving into anything more expensive.

audbleI tried both and liked the multibit MUCH better. I do agree with the other comments that it's more important what sounds better to you, everyone's ears/brains are different. Unfortunate that you can't try them first.

loadexfaPlease elaborate. I saw a review saying low-end was slightly better on multibit. You are correct though. It was a difficult sale to spend $100 dollars more without some clear differences stated. I haven't heard either one. I am sure others would be interested as well.

NumberoneqSure thing, happy to be useful if I can. I'm a bit weird because I didn't like the modi 2 at all. I say "weird" because so many people seem to love it as an entry-level dac. I found it sounded weak and thin. I tried the multibit to see if the hype was real (and to avoid paying the restocking fee for the modi) and loved it. It felt much fuller, more alive and interesting. It's a bit dark too which I like.
I also have the iFI iDSD BL and the Sound Blaster X7 and the modi multibit is still my favorite dac. One of these days I want to try out one of Audio-GD's R2R dacs and the Gumby (Schiit Gungnir with multibit) to see if they are worth the extra money. Hopefully one of them will become my end game dac.

loadexfaThank you for coming through! I have no dac frame of reference so I will probably be happy to hear something better than laptop onboard. I do feel a little more comfortable upgrading if something sounds a bit off. Thanks again.

NumberoneqYou're welcome! Also worth noting I was using the Modi2 with Aeons which tend to be very neutral and sound much better as you scale up with good equipment. I don't know if the HD-6XX's have that thinness issue on entry level gear (but they supposedly scale up really well too). My 6XX's should arrive Monday, can't wait to try them. :)

loadexfaI'm in the October group. Kind of wish I had waited until i got a shipping notification to order so I could have done what you did inside the 15 day window. 1st hifi headphone, 1st external dac & amp. I doubt I will be disappointed if half of what people say about this gear is true. I will give my novice impressions around christmas I suppose.
