Hey everyone,
I'm expecting this pair of headphones in 2018, but i'm new to this kind of quality. As i read through some of the comment, it seems that a DAC/amplifier is needed to run thoose at their best.
My question is, what type of dac-amplifier, or at least brand, can you recommand for less than 150$? I'm a little lost here so i can use some help, i will mainly use them for anything from music, movie, to video game.
Thank you in advance !

Keroz3Nunder 150 isn't gonna give u some remarkable improvements on sound of these level headphones, cuz u know 6xx is pretty much the same as 650, and that one was above 400$ once before, that is being said it usually would be suggested to spend more than 400$ on dac/amp to run it better, so u can try some pre-owned iha6, fostex hpa4bl, mytek 192 dsd, beyerdynamic a20(u can probably buy a pre-owned one below 200) but for a budget choice i would say go with fiio e10k, it's about 70 i think

Keroz3NThe FiiO E10K can be found for under 100 bucks and is a solid choice that will work fine. You don't need to spend a bunch of money like that other guy said

Keroz3NZReviews does awesome reviews with no snobbery, which unfortunately dominates the community (just look at the first reply), he won't tell shit like the need to get some expensive dacs with "multi-bit" based systems (just for sound) which costs at least 100 more and won't make you hear a difference unless you are doing a side by side comparison. Here is his guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/Zeos/comments/66xylk/guide_dac_amp_combo_units/

If you're just getting into exploring this world, I would recommend you buy just an Amp for now, and then later buy a decent DAC. Some good amps at your price point would be: O2 https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-o2-amplifier Schiit Magni 3
The above two options can be followed on with a DAC (ODAC goes with O2 or Schiit Modi 2 Uber goes with Schiit Magni 3) down the line.
If you can stretch your budget just a little further, MD has a drop for Aune T1 SE MK3 (AMP/ DAC) now for $179.99. Heard that it goes very well with the 6XX and many other comparable headphones. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/aune-t1-se-headphone-amp
If you want to buy a cheaper alternative, you could go for Schiit Fulla. It is a fair AMP/DAC, that doesn't quite do justice to 6XX, but does the job.
Cheers!

DeadPooolYe zeos has good reviews. Personally I'm going for the Schiit Fulla 2 cause it seems like the best bang for buck at 100$ http://www.schiit.com/products/fulla-2

NightFuryWow thank you all for your quick answer,
Reading all of your comments, it's clear to me that i need to dig deeper into what's an Amp, what's a DAC and how they operate with each other,
I will read all the suggested posts/sites and i have another question :
Is a sound card (external or not) like a soundblaster (only brand coming to mind) is interesting for this kind of product ? Can it be used with an Amp/DAC or not ?
I'm sorry to ask so many questions but i'm very curious on how to "properly" use this 6XX.

Keroz3NAMP is an Amplifier. Headphones with higher impedance (like the HD 6XX has 300 ohms), need higher power to drive them. Without an amplifier, the 6XX may appear to have a very low volume, and a lack of clarity and detail. Sound cards are internal to your PC. You can buy a sound card for your PC. Most new motherboards come with a decent on-board sound card. Your phone / PC would have a DAC, which converts your digital media to audio, but signal can get distorted because of electrical interference. By using an external DAC, you're taking your PC / mobile device's DAC out of the equation. While using AMP/DAC does enhance the experience, you should also note that it wouldn't matter as much, if you end up listening to (compressed / MP3) files with low bitrate. Try listening to uncompressed files (FLAC) with higher bitrate.

NightFuryYeah,
Since i bought the 6XX, i'm starting to get a "proper" repertory of music with better quality MP3 or FLAC to really enjoy them.
Really thank you for the anwser, even if i still have a long wait to receive them, knowing more about all thoose thing is great for the future !

Keroz3NJust to make this a bit clearer ... A soundcard is the same thing as a dac/amp. As mentioned by nightfury, most motherboards have dac/amps built-in. An external dac is the same as an external soundcard. Also, the HD6XX is a fairly easy load to drive, speaking just from the perspective of power (only needs 0.13mW to hit 90dB). It does need somewhat more voltage than lower impedance cans (particularly iems). It's actually a pretty easy load for most amps, provided it's getting loud enough for you, but this depends more on gain and max output voltage than max power output.

shimageI've run lower-level sennheiser's fine off or my ASUS Formula IX - apparently it's sound credentials are robust for a motherboard. But I think I may do this thing some justice and get a decent entry-level DAC-Amp, if only to make my sound-juggling a bit easier to handle since I also podcast and run a lot of mixing software for my Rhode USB mic.
