Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

I have just received my HD6XX yesterday and just plug it into my Edifier C3 amplifier(an desktop speaker + amplifier set).It can drive the HD6XX at fairly loud volume that is loud enough for my music consumption. But I found the HD6xx is lacking in bass in most of the songs (i mostly consume pop music). I know HD6xx is a more neutral headphone, but the bass is just too weak for my favour. Is this because my HD6xx is underpowered by C3 amplifier? Will an external amp(like O2 amp in Massdrop) helps boosting bass and make HD6xx sound better???
I am considering an amp but is not sure how big an improvement this will make.
On the other hand, open headphones generally don't have such a strong bass response. So it might indeed be that the headphone does not have the sound signature that you are looking for. I am running my HD6XX from a Schiit Magni 3. To my mind they perform great even for bass (but then I am not a basshead). They just don't have the sub-bass oompf that my DT770s have.
For comparison, I just have a Denon AH-d1100 headphone, which is 32Ohm in impediance from the spec and should be easily powered by my Edifier C3. This is my first time running a high-impedance so i am not sure what to be expeced(and what equipment is needed)
I think i am not a basshead, what i am expecting is just normal bass performance. This is also why i choose HD6xx, which known for its neutral sound.
