Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. Reading here and there; my understanding is the HD6XX will deliver a wider and deeper soundstage, and if pushed by the right tube amp will deliver the magic I am looking for.
AMP: Was thinking DV336SE, then moved on to the LF339.
Will these cans deliver, or should I be looking for something different?
I can say that the HD-6XX pairs REALLY well with the LF 339. I also like Schiit multibit dacs with the HD-6XX.
Like @loadexfa said, HD800 will give you a larger soundstage. They've got a really wide soundstage although the depth is about the same as the HD6XX. But because the soundstage is so wide, the depth is disproportionate and gives the impression of being much more shallow. In comparison, the soundstage of the HD6XX is much more natural.
