Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.

For fun, I made a short playlist of some songs I think sound great on the HD 650 (and thus HD 6XX). There’s a pretty good mix of stuff... maybe this could be fun to familiarize yourself with while you wait, and then see how they sound with the HD 6XX once they arrive?

I kept turning the volume up to try to get more out of them and it made my ears ring. Its taken about 2 weeks of limited usage of them and using speakers till my ears have mostly healed. I'm wondering if it was the volume or just earwax buildup? Either way I am kind of disappointed in my self. I am usually really careful about volume but sometimes with iems it is so easy to turn it up too high. I'm being extra careful of volume in general now. I want to keep enjoying music.
ears ringing is a sign of going too far, and as you get older you’ll start hearing the ringing even when nothing loud happened. I think Tinnitus unfortunately is as common as nearsightedness (they’re not linked, I’m just saying), and permanent. You may not have it yet though. Here’s some great research on safe listening levels and times before hearing damage:
