I joined the previous drop. As for a DAC / AMP Combo, my #1 option is the FX Audio DAC X6. Also got great reviews as well. But i heard that HD 6XX loves tube amps. So i'm also looking for a tube amp that wouldn't be too expensive. I'm eyeing on the SMSL T2 and Nobsound MS-10D MKII (with bluetooth). Any feedback from those Tube Amp or recommendation for other cheap Tube Amps? TIA

The.Ryan.GamerI have an SMSL T2, and while I've seen some folks say it powers 250-300 ohm headphones just fine, it seems way underpowered with my Beyer DT880s (250 ohm), and before I'd spend $159 on the Nobsound, I'd probably go with something like a Schiit Vali 2 (for $149, and I'd suspect better customer service). The SMSL is a slick little amp for the money when combined with the right cans (neat looking design as well):

DrBobUTerwilligerThanks for the feedback, i would want the Vali 2, but unfortunately, it's not available here in my location, i would end up spending more because of tax and shipping. feelsbadman

The.Ryan.GamerOh heck, yeah, I didn't factor in the possibility of you being outside the US. The Massdrop CTH (Cavalli) looks pretty incredible, though now you're over $300.

The.Ryan.GamerNo. It doesn't loves tubes. That is audiophile BS. Any amp with greater than 1 Vrms output should be sufficient to power it.

The.Ryan.GamerSound is a really subjective thing. Tube Amps noticeably distort the sound, which depending on the tube amp, and even the individual tubes in said amp, CAN have a pleasing effect on the sound.
But that's something you purchase and/or try AFTER you have a good solid state amp that can power these sufficiently. That being said, some believe a Schiit Fulla 2 will power them. I have an Aune Stack (X1S amp/dac and X7S balanced Class A) that I'm going to be running with it, personally.
But yeah man, good luck!

TaylorDThanks for the input man. I'll go solid state. Plus i realized the "REAL" tube amps are expensive AF.
