elin0096XX is arguebly better, and benefit more from high-end amplifiers. But overall sound signature is pretty close. For generic smartphone use i'd recommend the 58X. With my Galaxy S7 i have to crank the volume to around 85% to properly drive them, so the 6XX probably gonna be too much for smartphone use. For portable use, if you don't want to spend much, buy the Fiio E10K, or Q1 Mark II. If you can spend more, the nano iDSD BL is the best portable solution. If just for desktop use, the O2+SDAC combo is decent.

elin009I really enjoy the 6XX more. To me It's smoother and less harsh in the highs: A more balanced weight to the sound: sounds good with my roommates speaker amp. BUT. The HD58X is a pleasure to just hook up to my phone and go. They sound pretty nice with the O2 amp I have.

elin0096xx with aune x7s and dac d10 = awesome (good luck on 6xx with portable amp) 58x is awesome and can be powered by most things.

elin00958X will be better with a phone. 6XX will get loud enough on the smartphone, but that's just because the phone is detecting the high impedance and applying a TON of EQ to get it up to volume (which is bad for the sound).
