Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

If you seriously want to improve things from now on...here is a tip that I posted earlier but a few butthurts trolled the post. 'Limit the warranty to the first owner only'.
Let me explain why to those thick headed people who trolled earlier(not that I want them on this post again).
With no warranty cover the value of the headphones won't be lucrative for reselling, hence would automatically weed out the resellers/profiteers that joined this drop and made hell for every genuine buyer. Even with one headphone for one person policy, it's not difficult to make multiple accounts and buy one from each.
Even though I was able to get one this time but the difficulties that everyone went through could have been minimised.
Over and out!
Also, massdrop themselves deal with the warranty on these headphones so they can't do anything about limiting warranty handover. Sennheiser is still making these on their own in their factories in Ireland. They have a standard and image to uphold. They aren't going to change their warranty policy because a few people couldn't get their hands on some headphones and are jealous of resellers buying multiple pairs.
Just another point of view, not a troll.
That said, especially with the online market, it's not always about who got there first or who wanted it more. It might come down to how many routs you had from your computer, causing you to time out where the other person may have gotten it. Certainly sucks if you were there at 6 PST but still not able to buy it due to system failures. Like I hear stories of concerts being sold out in minutes, only to find out scores of tickets get released on Stubhub. Those situations really suck for people who want to buy something, but can't due to other's greed.
For this drop, I thought Massdrop already did the right thing to limit this to 1 per person already and having warranty limited to first owner only to be unnecessary (unless those resellers were able to buy from multiple accounts)
Yeah it's just the joys of the internet. It was tough for me too being in Australia. Ping to the American servers just killed me. But i got there fast and was lucky that i got the paypal payment to go through within 10 minutes of the drop
move on, there'll always be another Drop or thing to buy that has limited quantities...
I encourage everyone to ignore sellers of the Sennheiser 6xx.
After your example, you state that you think these headphones should be available to someone who would actually fucking use them. You're only reinforcing my opinion of your flawed application of Aristotle.
