Hey everyone. Definitely a cable of the wrong length getting out there. We're talking with Sennheiser now to see what happened and how to fix it. Should get back to you all soon.

AlexPkI just thought of a possible solution, though I suspect some folks will think it's unacceptable. Anyway, why not just send out a cheap 2 ft 3.5 mm femal to 3.5 mm male cable extender to all users that want to have the full reach of the advertised cable. Hell, if you want to go above and beyond you could offer in varying lengths. Just a thought. Good luck handling this fix.

AlexPkHow long was it supposed to be? Just got mine yesterday, and it seems pretty short. Not really a deal breaker though, since I sit fairly close to my amp.

AlexPkMine isn't six feet long either, but I'll probably look for a longer cable myself unless Sennheiser wants to offer us a deal on the standard 650's length. But even without the longer cable, the sound of the HD6XX makes it a ridiculous value.
Here's the thing, though:
Just as the HD650 box is the case -- which suggests the 650s were never meant to leave home -- so the original cable length reflects the home and studio use for which these headphones were designed.
Massdrop's accessory choices should also reflect that reality.
One more thing:
Next time you drop these, please lighten the blue enough to be visible. Most 6XXs won't see direct sunlight on a clear and scorching day, which means they're effectively yet another pair of matte black headphones from Massdrop.
Merely repeating the safest color choice isn't stylistic consistency, Massdrop. It's a rut you should try to jump.

AlexPkYeah, 6ft is the ideal length for me as this would be for desktop use. I guess MD/Sennheiser can make it up by offering extra cable for free. The recent HD 598s came with 2 cables after all.

AlexPkHi Alex, yes, please have a word with the vendor (Senn) and let them know the original description states (written/ typed) the cable included is 1.8 mtr or 6 ft long and there are over 5000 witnesses (those made the drop and those didn't), that being said, I'm still waiting for mine to arrive... 1.8 mtr is ideal for me (and many others) as I had already replaced most my collections into 1.8 mtr (I once have to custom ordered/ paid 3x 1.2 mtr and reconfigure into 2x 1.8 mtr).

AlexPkI've vented in other threads, but yes, 3 is too short... Even my daughter noticed it when I took them out of the box!

AlexPkWorst case scenario, or best maybe .....depending....is that they have the stock 650 cables available, not everyone wants/needs the longer cable but probably most...especially for a phone that's not considered portable...: )

AlexPkLooking forward to your your findings on this. While the short cord may do fine for portable listening, it is too short for the hardware I intend to pair this with. Thanks.
