(I wrote this as a discussion comment but then realized I was silly and missed the big REVIEWS tab)
There is faint consistently spaced vertical striping (difficult to capture with a camera), mostly visible on muted gray backgrounds (like the Firefox dark theme), but most importantly there is very prominent backlight bleed on both the original and replacement units I received, enough to bother me when there's a dark screen (or when I'm playing games that don't support 21:9). I also had one dead pixel (that I found) on each of the two panels. I couldn't take great photos with my phone in the dark, but I attached them to show what I mean. The plain ones are overbrightened and exaggerate it to show the hotspots, and the other two are a bit more real, with the first one being the most indicative of what I experienced when playing. The panel doesn't feel as mind-blowingly fast as a 144Hz panel did for me in the past. 44 extra refreshes a second is big, but I think the VA panel isn't quite up to snuff for speed, even outside of gaming; this is not an objective measurement, for what its worth. I also notice color shifting when scrolling; it's especially apparent scrolling through reddit comments in RES dark mode, where the text changes color; it also happens elsewhere like photos.
That being said, the real estate is awesome, and I've spent much more time lately with a couple of windows up doing stuff other than gaming, and it's been wonderful not to have to get it from one monitor (though I suspect I'll have to find a 27" high-refresh IPS display with a good panel for gaming). I'm moving up from a 24" Dell Ultrasharp (U2412M), though that IPS unit has almost zero backlight bleed :) I'm super picky about panels, and the bleed bothers me, but ultimately, I kept the replacement unit. Massdrop required me to send both back before attempting another replacement, but I had no way of knowing whether the third unit would be better or worse. The value is certainly there for the specs, and it performs generally well.
