I want to like this monitor but I can't be a guinea pig this time. Need to see what the dead/stuck pixel policy is and how that all works out, how the overall QC is from the factory, how MD handles warranty claims, and maybe I'll buy in once the bugs are shaken out. If that means I have to pay a little more later, then so be it. I've done enough first-run hardware group buys to know how this can go sideways. Good luck to everybody and I hope it goes super smooth. Thanks to MD for trying to provide a product that the rest of the industry is ignoring in favor of profits over innovation and quality.

DataHe says in the stickies thread that the monitor is pixel perfect. Dead pixel = return.
i agree about the rest of your concerns. coupled with a January ship date and I'm less eager.

clickstopsThe time doesn't concern me. I'm currently neck deep in 2 GBs that are running 7-8 months since orders closed. I'm also in a keyboard key set group buy that started taking orders in 2014 and is still in production. So obviously a 4 month turn-around is not a deal breaker for me. MD is wisely being conservative with their delivery estimates because things can and frequently do go wrong when you're bringing a new product to market.
It's nice to hear about the pixel policy. That's a huge bonus. I guess you can just lump all of that under Quality Control. QC has been something MD struggled with in past product launches and I'm not willing to take the chance this time. I'd rather buy once the process is perfected.
