@Will Can you do me a favor? When you overclock the refresh rate to 110hz with Nvidia control pane, would you mind setting your resolution from 3440 x 1440 to 2560 x 1440 through the Nvidia control panel at 100hz, and then overclock that custom resolution (yes I am aware there will be black bars)? You should be able to hit around 130hz or higher. Please let me know how high you go before the screen flickers, its safe to attempt, Nvidia will revert back to best known resolution after 19 seconds if the screen goes black... Please let me know soon as the drop ends in 4 days, thanks!

Raoden" When you overclock the refresh rate to 110hz with Nvidia control pane"
Not sure if confused or another trolling NVidia cultist.
This is a Freesync monitor, presumably you mean AMD's control panel? Will linked the results up top here for UW - it goes up to 120Hz, but flickers outside of games at that rate.

jloopy212Majority of people buying this monitor will be using high end 1080 ti's or 1080's graphics cards. Vega 64 can't even run Assassins Creed Origins at 1080p on Medium settings. So yeah... umm... I'm the troll... sure thing bud. ;) good luck at 3440 x 1440 with your AMD cards. ;)

jloopy212No, you're just an idiot. The monitor flickers at 3440x1440 120hz and he overclocked it using Nvidia control panel. If you READ what I said in the first post, I told him to change resolution to 2560 x 1440 because this increases overclocking potential and he may be able to get 130-140hz at the 2560 x 1440.

RaodenYeah, like I said, I just assumed you had mistyped or were confused in your first post. Obviously I was giving you too much credit.
It was not overclocked on NVidia - I have no idea why you're thinking it was other than the normal NVidia kool-aid overconsumption nonsense.

jloopy212Hi there,
The monitor uses Freesync Technology , but you can do Overclock to the VA panel via Nvidia control panel it does not matter if your using free or g sync. I know you cannot use freesync with Nvidia card but you can still access Nvidia control panel and do the usual stuff like setting resolution, and refresh rate of the monitor. Thanks.

edu616Thanks, I'm well aware. And if there's a specific reason to believe that the NVidia software can drive higher OC rates on this panel than those already laid out that might be an interesting discussion. There's no reason believe this is the case though making the point moot.
As you can see from OP's history, he is simply interested in trashing this monitor - in his previous comment he specifically stated he would never be interested in this monitor, but now wants to waste time with meaningless "tests" simply to whine about the imagined superiority of NVidia/GSync.
There have been a number of trolls in this discussion peddling NVidia marketing garbage and I was just doing what I could to tamp them down.

jloopy212No problem! I just wanted to clarify that even tho it's a Freesync Monitor you can still use the 100Hz with an Nvidia GPU or even overclock it and see if you can get pass the 100Hz. Thanks.

jloopy212No. I want this monitor. There is evidence. I just went from 2560 x 1440 to 1920 x 1080 on my current monitor, and it allowed me to overclock the refresh rate higher than what 2560 x 1440 allowed me to do.
Continue to be ignorant. Also, @Will used a Nvidia card, in Nvidia control panel to overclock this monitor to 110hz, so I am curious, if he goes to 2560 x 1440 in nvidia control panel if he can hit that 130hz or so. He should be able to, I have tested it on a few monitors.
or continue to be ignorant, its your choice

Raoden" No. I want this monitor. There is evidence. "
There is evidence alright:
" I am holding off as well, next year is going to be a great year for monitors. I have my eye on 240hz 1440p 27" monitors.
Even a 1080 ti can not play the latest AAA titles at 3440x1440 at 70 plus stead frames... I think Assassin's Creed Origins gets only 75 frames... so I mean... eh the tech just isn't there yet, but 2560x1440 is easy to push."

Do please stop wasting everyone's time with your NVidiocy.

jloopy212You can set timings for refresh rates regardless of the GPU, you can do it with nvidia control panel or Custom Resolution Utility by ToastyX.
It has nothing to do with Freesync.

jloopy212What does this have to do with my topic? I do indeed plan to get a 240hz 1440p someday, I currently have a 96hz QNIX 1440p and enjoy it a lot.... how is it wasting everyone's time? this is a very demanding resolution to play at... and I am simply curious if in 2560x1440 mode I can OC it higher...
wow you are a jerk. you a trump voter bruh? lulz. unable to interpret basic logic I see.

q2kleptoYeah, like I said up front, I fully acknowledge that you change the refresh rates irrespective of adaptive sync technology.
The point is, as you noted, this has already been done by Will with the results posted weeks ago. Why does it matter if it's done with NVidia branded software as the OP insisted? In my first response, I thought he may have been just confused and was looking to see if the upper bound of the Freesync range could be stretched - which was why I asked him to clarify if he meant AMD.
Then I realized he can't get through one sentence without saying "NVidia" and you realize something smells fishy.
OP isn't even interested in buying this monitor as he's made abundantly clear; he is simply trying to troll and push NVidia marketing points as you can see from his increasingly hostile and incoherent responses throughout the discussion.

jloopy212What are you talking about? My OP is about this monitor... I want to see @Will set the monitor from 3440 x 1440 into 2560 x 1440 mode to see if it can OC higher at that rez, and I have evidence it works on other monitors. where 3440x1440 is capped at 100hz on IPS variants of the monitor, putting them down to 2560 x 1440 in Nvidia control panel and then they go close to 115hz before flickering starts... so I just want to see what this monitor can do before I buy it... I am not sure how ignorant you are to not interpret what I am saying... but hey im done, have fun with your low iq lol

jloopy212Wow, I just got this monitor off CL and was perusing the web and these forums to get some info. This is my first (and likely only) comment on the Drop forums. After several hours of reading, I noticed a common theme where at some point, many of the threads would garner a prominent tone of negativity, derail off-topic and end then the thready typically dies. And jloopy212 has been in, I think, mostly all of them. Going back, turns out he's the one instigating and creating a negative atmosphere that's been reduced to little more than name-calling.
