Update March 20: Hi all - Good news: with over 1k members getting in on the Vast drops and the positive feedback we've received so far, we've been able to work out a plan to produce more Vast monitors and bring the price down to $549.99 for this drop. Thanks again for helping make the Vast a success!
Updated March 6: We’re excited to announce that more units of the Vast monitor are available! We will likely be able to open up a couple of limited quantity drops over the next few months.
The first of these runs will launch today (Mar. 7), with 300 units. The estimated ship date for this production run is July 19.
———-

Hi all -
We’re excited to be able to make the Vast monitor available again and to get it into some more members’ hands! The initial run was very well received (see the stats in this post below, and reviews further down in the discussion), and has seen thousands of requests after the drop ended.
We ended up with 150 extra monitors in inventory from the first drop. Rather than hold those units (and to give an equal chance for people to get them), we’re going to give 150 random members in this drop those monitors early (~10-20 days post drop). We’ll let you know via email on or before March 3rd if you’re one of the 150.
Thanks!
EDIT (2/8 1pm PT): There was an issue with the drop showing the total # purchased (from last drop and this drop), as we normally do with re-launches. This has now been fixed. The number of Vast monitors purchased in the first drop was 743.

------

Now that the drop is over and all of the units have been dispatched, we wanted to provide a post-drop update. The goal of this update is to give more transparency on the success and failure rates on this drop, along with clarity on what we're doing to resolve any issues that came up in this drop.  We're planning on rolling this process out across a majority of our Massdrop Made products and collaborations in the future.

Issue resolution:
• Power issues + Dead Pixels -   Based on current member emails, there does not seem to be a systematic issue on this drop. We'll be taking a closer look at the problematic monitors when they're sent back in so we can assess them for any core issues.  Members who experienced issues in this bucket are either being issued refunds or replacements. • Shipping damage issues - Members who experienced issues in this bucket are either being issued refunds or replacements.  While there will always be a small amount of shipping related issues, we are looking at options to improve packaging to lower this rate. • Lopsided - Some units have a piece of metal on the stand attachment that is causing a lopsided monitor.  There is a simple, physical fix to force the plastic past this metal (here are details:  https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-vast-curved-gaming-monitor/talk/1959143).  For the next run, we are working on the material production process to prevent this issue.
As always, if you have experienced an issue with this drop and haven't already written in, please contact our support team via the transactions page so we can help you out.
Thanks for helping to make the Vast a success!

bradrHonestly those are much better numbers than I expected for a first-run product of this complexity. Impressive achievement. Even if there are no measurable improvements in the 2nd run it could still be considered a success.

bradrI find it hard that there is only 4 customers with dead pixels. I'm on my second vast both have had dead pixels, waiting on the third & for only .6% to have dead pixels i must have bad luck. Id rather you guys open the box up and test the monitor for me if this 3rd one has dead pixels before sending a replacement.

WittenzellnerSorry to hear you've run into that issue twice, @Wittenzellner. That sucks. I'd assume some of the issues listed under that first bucket overlap with the pixel issue.. but still super unlucky. Glad to hear the support team has been able to get you a replacement.

CheetohzIt's still phonemically good value for a monitor of this type, I only wish G-Sync was free like free sync is so that I could use frame syncing with my 1080ti but I guess you can's have everything

bradrHave quite a few of them had backlight bleeding issues? I got mine last night, and I like the monitor a lot, but there is some pretty good back light bleed. It has to portions that look like there is a little flashlight shining down on the screen and two others that have the traditional bleeding glow. I like the monitor a lot and it's a great size and looks good in with the right stuff on the screen and when the room light is on, but when I darken the room and play a darker game it's pretty noticeable. I know even high end monitors can have it, just wanting to know if this is considered a defect or just part of having a large monitor.

mil04042I also got mine last night and noticed the same thing with the backlight bleeding. Though when I was testing it with applications and games I didn't notice it. But when the screen is black or near black I could see it.

John__wHey @John__w - if you were in the last drop and did not get the fast shipping upgrade, definitely reach out to the support team via your transactions page. While price changes happen all the time and can't always be accounted for (and in most cases couldn't be refunded from previous purchases), this one is on a Massdrop made product that was very recently changed - they may be able to give you the latest price or at least a coupon. Feel free to reach out to me at brad.ross@massdrop.com if you run into an issue there. Thanks!

bradrYou know, you'd probably sell more if people didn't have to wait for the Pony Express to bring it by horseback 1/3 of a year later. You picked the wrong century to have that kind of wait. Just an FYI. (I actually think massdrop is great otherwise)

iamblueman4You realize they only get manufactured after we place an order, right? Massdrop doesn't keep a stock of these (or any product) nor does the manufacturer. This is a group buy site and the Vast is a custom product made to order.

DataOf course. I'm just pointing out that this is an unreasonable wait for many consumers. If you don't mind getting your monitor sometime this summer, that's great.

bradrbradr, what about those of us who ordered on the last drop? We're still waiting on our monitors and paying more than the latest buyers.

bradrSo has anyone who got that email advertisement from Massdrop actually received that $50 refund it promised? When the drop was still $599.99, I was one of the customers who received the offer for a $50 refund for joining at the increased price point, but when I reached out to customer support about how to claim the refund, they just gave me their routine "We don't give refunds." reply. Now I can't even get in contact with anyone to explain what's going on with this situation. For someone who just made an expensive purchase, I am very annoyed and disappointed with the service I've received so far.

LunarFoxHey Lunar - sorry for the confusion. There's definitely been a number of moving parts with the various drops, prices, and offers - and it hasn't been communicated very consistently. One important piece: the $50 off to go from $599.99 -> 549.99 was so successful that the team instead decided to just drop the price so everyone had the deal. That may have been part of the confusion for you.
I'll follow-up with our customer service lead to have them re-open your ticket give you received that original e-mail offer and make sure you were only charged $549.99, or if you were in the previous drop at $599.99 have the team see what they can do. Sorry again for the confusion!

bradrI got 2 of these and was charged the full 599.99 each and received no refund. I have also found no way of getting information on when these will be shipped or what's happening. Massdrop is doing a terrible job of keeping us informed.
