3rd Party Review
Danny is kind enough to throw some product development gear my way to test. It's winter, so I haven't been able to use it as extensively as I would have liked to.
I am 5' 10" at 165 and usually go with a large.
This wind jacket has a very athletic fit for the medium I was given to test. A large would be perfect, (in fact I will be ordering a large come Friday).
The medium was just a little too slim and the sleeve length just about a 1/2 inch short. You will definitely want to size up if you are taller or not athletic cut.
The large will hopefully be a few inches longer which will make a huge difference while being worn over a few layers.
I use a windshirt more to hold my body heat in than just to block the wind. This windshirt breathes really well and I haven't been clammy at all in the 20 hours Ive used it while being out on a hike or run..
The fabric truly is as advertised. It has a much more robust feel to it than 10d and 7d fabrics. There's a texture to the feel that is really nice. I think it's that the ripstop threads are twice the thickness and the weave of them alows for that better release of vapor build up from your body.
Even with the medium, I didn't have any rubbing issues. The lower torso was slim but the rest of the fit was really nice. There is a generous amount of room around the armpits and shoulders, but nothing is baggy.
My favorite part (other than it being a full zipp), was the no frills hood.
It fits very well. I hate hoods that accommodate a helmet. There is no stiffening to the brim or draw cords. The cut is just a very nice fit.
If I had a large, I could tell you much more information about the sizing.
This really is a great wind jacket.
