I tend not to subject myself to particularly rough weather, but this was a dream to have with me on this weekend's trip to Linville Gorge. We were constantly going up to the windy ridge and then descending, so it would've been a huge pain to constantly stop and take off my pack to put on or remove a layer. I just wore the wind shell through almost all of it and never overheated or felt too cold. I've never used or owned a wind shell before (it seemed like a luxury item; if you're cold you can just put on your warmer layer or a rain jacket), but I'm sold now. Great jacket, crazy light.

EZ_living;-) I have a columbia jacket that unzips so you can use the wind shell by itself wind shells are godsends
