Reviving a Revolutionary Computer

If you worked with computers in the 1980s, there’s a good chance you used an Apple IIe. One of the most popular home computers ever made, it laid the foundation for the PC as we know it today, and helped spur Apple onto the worldwide stage. And though it was popular in the ‘80s, it wasn’t until 2015 that designer admgc came up with a keycap set honoring the legendary machine. Today—following some key updates from community members Harlw and Oblotzky—SA Green Screen is born. Comprising beige modifiers and dark gray alphas with either apple-green or amber legends, SA Green Screen captures what it was like to operate the iconic Apple IIe computer.

Doubleshot ABS in SA Profile

Made from doubleshot ABS, these caps are durable and vivid. They’re sculpted in SA profile, which is tall and curved for a satisfying feel with each keypress. Produced by Signature Plastics, the keycaps are compatible with Cherry MX switches and stems and feature their standard easy-to-read SA tooling font.

Alpha Kit

The base alphas come with green or amber legends. You’ll need the alphas to outfit any keyboard.

The Modifiers kit features improved modifier compatibility to cover the common tenkeyless layout and many other layouts that typically require an extension or add-on kit. This is designed to give you the most flexibility at the lowest cost possible.

The Numpads will be offered in either green or amber to match the alphas.

These icons were created by engicoder (famous for SA 1976) with cool retro PC components.

The Assembly kit provides coverage for ortholinear keyboards and the 40bit is intended for 40% layouts.

This kit is compatible with the ErgoDox keyboard.

These are compatible with special keyboards, and only available with apple-green legends.

Alternate Function Colors

This kit is for those that want the function keys with their respective green or amber legends.

This kit brings the Assembly legends to tenkeyless boards. It can also be used on 65% and 75% layouts to cover extra column keys.

This kit is for those with macros on their keyboards, like on the VE.A or the RAMA M10.

This kit offers arrows in modifier color, and accent color of the two alpha variations.

Split keyboards such as the VE.A require a couple short blank keys as spacebars, which are offered here.

Spacebars (All the Different Colors)

This kit offers extra 6.25 and 7u spacebars in their respective colors.

This kit is for anyone who works with the Mac operating system.

To celebrate the joint effort of bringing this set to life, these keys are dedicated to all fellow clackers. Some of the community icons also received an update compared with previous communities kits.

To achieve a truly old school–looking keyboard, you'll need this kit. It features legends that are not doubleshot, but pad printed on top.
