Two and a half years ago admgc posted his initial concept for Greenscreen and cited this photo

as his inspiration for the set. It immediately transported me to one of my earliest experiences with computers in the late 80s where I spent hours experimenting with an IBM terminal while staying for a week at my uncle’s house one summer. I had no manual and nobody else knew anything about the computer so through trial and error I was able to brute-force my way through a few basic commands. The excitement I felt when I would finally get a valid response from my inputs is a memory that always brings a smile to my face.
I think the colors in this set capture that vintage computing imagery perfectly and I am humbled that admgc incorporated my suggestions as well as putting up with my pestering to bring it to life over the last couple years. I hope you are as excited as I am to relive the 70s and 80s by adorning your biggest, loudest, and beigest keyboard with this set. I’d also love to hear about your favorite “green screen” experience!
harlwVery cool concept, great design and nice kits. Congratulations @harlw@Oblotzky and admgc for this project, my favorite scheme is hands down the amber. You guys have done a terrific job!
harlwMy very first computer was a used Apple IIe that my family bought for $50 in the late 80s. Nobody knew how to use it, so it became my playground. I was able to install the game Zork: The Great Underground Empire from 5.25" floppy discs and I was hooked. I'm a software engineer these days; the impressions that old IIe left on me have never faded!
MiToI like the green concept better but looking at my oblivion mods the amber really pops out. I'll probably be in for both. At least the alphas. I can't stand a bottom R3.
MiToMiTo are you experience in graphic design? just curious, if you made these little banners yourself (: Really trying to get a feel for the necessary skill set(s) to get involed, would be an absolute joy to put some designs together just for fun ^_^ Not trying to make a dime right now, but would love to experiment with customization.
admgcHey, I'm not really sure how to reach out to you other than by comment, so here goes. I was wondering about the Amber numpad set and if it will go into production if it doesn't hit its MOQ/by how much it can miss. On the homepage it says
"The Numpads will be offered in either green or amber to match the alphas." Which kind of sounds like they will be offered no matter what, but i'm really unsure about it. Any insight would be super appreciated.
CradessI'm not sure about that, unfortunately. There have been 200+ more orders since the numbers were last updated, so hopefully some of them have pushed amber numpad closer to MOQ...
admgcCount me in for the amber side too. I wish I had the funds to get complete sets in both green and amber, but could only go with one complete set.... and I'm banking on putting the ambers in a black and orange ALF X3 Renova. We'll see how that turns out!
