I was really waiting for Massdrop to make a balanced DAC to go with the AAA 789, which I am buying!!! R-2R is good, but not being balanced is a bummer. For now, I have made peace with Topping D50. Wait for perfect DAC continues at MD :).
Also, comparison with Audio-GD R-2R offerings is in order, as they are at similar price point!!

AmJoshHow do you like the D50? I have the SMSL sanskrit 6th edition. I ordered the D50 on the last drop. I wonder if I will tell a difference.

BuckabooGot it a week back. Comparing it with NFB 11.28. I am pairing it with Darkvoice. The clarity is definitely improved. The sound is more spacious. All the instruments are better separated, and layered. The soundstage has widened with better accuracy of instrument positions. Base is also tighter and goes lower. Overall every aspect was improved. However, the sound is not fatiguing at all. It's too good to be true.
