Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Hey, "I'm just saying"
Just saying.
http://www.head-fi.org/t/752994/my-akg-comparison-k7xx-k712-65th-annies-and-the-rest-to-stop-this-confusion
Other than the "Red Trim" the two phones have exactly the same stats. 1. Frequency response, 2. OHM impedance, 3. input power rating, 4. voice coil construction, 5. sensitivity 6. weight.
The only apparent difference is the fact that the Q701 phones come with both a (3) meter and a (6) meter oxygen free copper cables.
If you compare them you'll find that the stats of both headphones have the same identical values listed.
Again, "I'm just saying....."
You're saying the Fostex TH600 and TH-X00 sound the same because they have the same specs?
Yeah sure, the tuning of the driver, dampening, etc. are all irrelevant right?
You're totally clueless about headphones and way out of your league.
Same for "frequency range", sure the headphone covers 50hz - 39500hz (whatever the spec says) but that doesn't tell you anything about which frequencies are emphasized or reduced, only says it's capable of producing those tones.
I was told that the AKG Q701 is produced in the consumer division of the company and the AKG K7XX is produced in the professional division of the company.
I then said the two headphones list the exact same specs. Is there any difference between the two headphones with regards to tuning or how they deliver sound or how they sound? Raffiel stated that the two headphones used the exact same capsule and other than cosmetics, the two headphones are exactly the same. After composing this post, I called Raffiel back and read what I had written. After being reassured that I was reporting the fact correctly, I got his permission to post this information,
Here's the number again. AKG US Tech support (1 800-458-5534) call them and ask for yourself.
I'm not trying to be a spoiler but I do like to observe. Thus the name "OBSERVER 1000"

That being said half the time Engineers do not fully know every detail of a product they have partly designed and the reasons for choices made in the final product. Small companies have the advantage of intimate design knowledge.
Whoever made the arrangements for the Massdrop K7xx design might actually know what driver is installed in the K7xx but isn't at liberty to discuss for marketing reasons.
I suppose all we can do is ask Massdrop to guarantee us that this Red/Black K7xx is exactly the same in driver and design as the K7xx All Black version except for color enhancements?
Another "Look Mom, I'm an Troll!" type post. Courtesy of ApolloSharp. Can we maybe have people take a test before they make dumbass comments like this?"
Well I suppose working 25 years as an engineer and overseeing product manufacturing. Being a working musician, having close friends that have also been engineers for various audio companies such as Alesis, JBL, Aurasound, Urei including attending a lot of AES/NAMM conferences, acquired literally 1000's of pieces of audio gear and spent time in numerous reputable recording studios might bias me a bit. I believe there is always something new to be learned. I learn by others taking the time to share their knowledge and hopefully I can do the same.
There are many Industry people on MD and experts lurking in these forums.

ApolloSharp if you are not going to add anything useful please find another forum to attack people on. All I learned from you was of your personal hateful insecurity.
Perhaps ApolloSharp would have more time if they spent less of it Trolling?
ApolloSharp admitting that they are in fact a Troll is the most sincere and insightful comment that I have seen ApolloSharp post on Massdrop.
