Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?

Tip for gaming use with a modmic: buy "1/4" PET Expandable Braided Sleeving- 10ft - Black" from Amazon or your favorite online store and use it to couple the modmic and stock k7xx cables for cleanliness, you can use adhesive shrink tubing for the end closest to the headphones.
If you pair the cables together you can buy an extra mini XLR to 3.5mm cable for when you use the k7xx (no modmic) on a different computer / listening station which is what I'm using as I type this comment.
