Who came here because of Jacksucksatlife
good headset overall, but it clearly lack bass it's not 0 bass, but the music is not accurate also treble are too high
I bought the black version of these M220’s and replaced the ear pads with the superior Brainwavs. After burning these in for a couple weeks with different tracks and listening through a Schitt Magni/Modi 3 stack, I can honestly say the following: These are not good headphones at all. But for $50, these might be a great pair for beginners. My Monoprice planars sound much better for an extra $100 - they absolutely kill these M220s with a wider soundstage, smoother mids and clearer vocals. On that note, my B&O H9’s sound refined with the noise-cancellation turned off and connected via hard line when compared to these. And the M9’s don’t sound that great with the noise cancellation turned off. But! Someone starting off in audio would probably like these. My advice to someone contemplating these headphones: Hold off and pay an extra $150 to buy the higher-end AKG K7XX or the Sennheiser HD6xx models. Which is is what I should’ve done. I gave my M220s to my fiancé and she tossed them in a drawer after listening to them for a couple of days. And she’s no expert in audio or sound quality. I hope all all of you find the perfect pair of headphones for yourself. Let me know what works best for you. Cheers!
These cans do live up to the advertising: they're a solid choice for first-timers. My audio sensibilities aren't any better than those of a complete newbie, but as best as I can try to discern, these headphones sound no worse than my first pair, the ATH-M50, which costs 3 times as much.
I enjoy the semi-open back design; it feels slightly less claustrophobic than what I'm used to hearing, but that's pretty much the only difference I can tell.
Caveat emptor - I’ve just been sent a customs payment request for verseas shipping that doubles the price ofbthese headphones... had I onown this was tagged on I wouldn’t have made the purchase
Is it a waste of money to plug these straight into phone/pc? (Phone is Nokia 7 plus)
Horbenjorp256
Depends on the amp built into the little guy - I know my old Sony Xperia claimed a top end end headphone amp and it did a pretty good job for a phone if I used flac formats.
Can I use them to game on XB1?
SomeYoungQwan
You probably could with a mod mic or something along those lines, but you would also need the thing that plugs into the bottom Of the controller and has controls on it
can someone link me or send me the 15$ off discount via /r/buildapc?
I first found these about a month after buying the actual K240s and BOY OH BOY do I feel stupid. I prefer the red/black to the standard gold/black, I wish I had payed attention.
Is there shipping to México? it baffles me how Massdrop doesn't list México as an available country to ship products to.
Is this bluetooth?
DuckLore
Nope
Was wondering if I you need an amp for these or I could just plug it straight into my computer? (I know, I know, i should probably get an amp at some point)
ELPAdog
Nope, you can plug straight in.

Sick, ty.
Yo, it says 22 hours left. Can I still buy these after the time runs out?
MarioDesigns
starts and ends everyday
Are semi-open headphones still usable in a work environment? I was thinking about buying this for work but wondering if I can or must they be closed.
lastzero
I have a pair of these. You can hear people talk to you provide you can hear over the music. Other people wont hear you blasting Wayne unless you have it so loud its dangerous to listen to. The sound is extremely clear and balanced. You can go into a guitar center and try them on too.
The bleed of open headphones more affects recording because it causes feedback and introduces noise. These are best suited to playing games imo and are plenty clear enough to have music playing and still focus on the game. Presumably this will trsnslate to office work.
These regularlo go down to around $70 at guitar center without a coupon or anything. This might be a different model however so do your research but they look idéntica to mine just bluhd themed.
If you have money to spend, Audio-Technica m30 or whatever are closed back if you want to shut out exterior noise.
where can i buy a shorter cord?
browneman15
its a mini xlr cord I believe. id try Amazon

There a promo on r/buildapc that drops the price to 35 USD. Not sure how much that is in AUD, but should at least be close...? Keep in mind shipping and potential customs fees tho. I'm not from Australia, but I get those here.
Rakija
Rakija (or anybody else), i've looked and searched r/buildapc but couldn't find that promo. Could you please point me to the right place or send a link ? Many thanks.
How do these compare to the AKG K240s?
cmcguire96
The AKG 220 pro and AKG 240 are basically the same.
Diefly555
I remember hearing something about the M220 Pro being tuned a little different compared to the K240 MKII but idk
Okay, I'm looking into different pads for these, as the vinal pads on there are what personally make these uncomfortable and difficult to use. As such, does anyone have any reccomendations? Also, I'd apprechite if someone can tell me how pleather/velour/hybrid pads each effect the sound signiture. For those who will say to get a different cable, I already have a cable on order from Mimic Cables (I opted for the OCC Silver upgrade, and furutech connectors).

I just doubt you'll have a reason to put these back on once you get the 58X.
Bradum
I have six pairs of headphones. The ones I grab almost every time are the HE4XX. I haven't touched my DT 990 Pro or HE350 in weeks, and they used to be what I grabbed every time. I hardly use the HD 559, or K550 MKIII. Every so often, I do like to change it up and listen to something a little different, even if it's the same music, just out of something with a different sound signiture. The biggest reason I don't use the M220 Pro is the pads. If I can fix that, then I'm going to.
Will they work with apple iphone7 connectors

Are these compatible with Xbox one?
Joepaddock
I am a ps4 user and i don't know how to respond to this BUT if the xbox one jack is similar to your phone then yes.
How are these compared to Superlux HD668b?
davenerican
These look damn near identical, really weird.
davenerican
Hd668b brighter.
some semi-open headphones have really low leak considering, is that the case w/ these cans
johannmcray
Nope. Not at all.
johannmcray
youd have to have someones face right next to the can for it to be audible at a normal volume
NO LONG TERM DAMGE!!
my dog has bitten the cord in half. where do i buy another 3 prong aux cord?
Bludude4
Crap. After a few years of abuse my cable is starting to wig out now too. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.
So i have the older white ones does anyone have a good recommendation for pad replacements?
Yodastien
The brainwavz round pads are pretty good. I have the hybrid ones myself
Does this work on ps4?
Tundarr
yes but theres no mic
Patty56
Is there anyway to hook up a mfor in-line with the headphones?
