Stitching came apart on one of the ear pads. unclear on where I order more

You can replace the ear pad with any that fit the akg k240. I upgraded mine to the velvet pads.

Argh! happened again! Now I have 2 with the stitching coming apart.
Do you need to use an AMP with these?

only If you want the most out of them. They are 55 ohms so you can power them with your typical phone or laptop. But a $100 dac/amp from Fulla called the Schit works wonders.

No amp needed, but not exactly what I would want to use with iPhone or other portable device.

They will sound better with a DAC though. These need to be pushed a little, otherwise they sound a little muffled.
