Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. Second, aside from finances and delivery dates, I am genuinely torn between these three options; all have legitimate pluses and minuses. I am upgrading from a LD MKIII, so I am comfortable with tubes; although the Vahalla 2 is said to be less tubey, but still with many of the virtues of a tube amp and responsive to rolling the input tubes. As for the Jot, Schiit told me that I would not be able to take advantage of the increased power of the balanced output if I continue to use the unbalanced Mimby as my DAC (which I intend to do; the absence of a coaxial input on the Jot would make my Schiit Eitr useless if I ordered the balanced DAC module). The LC will allow me to get the benefit of the balanced outputs even if the Mimby is connected to the RCA inputs. (Though the Jot's SE output should still easily power my headphones: Sennheiser HD700, Hifiman 400i, and, in about three months, the 6XX.) Any advice would be welcome.
I would like to know the answer to your second question as well, personally I have made up my mind on a mimby and Jot stack.
