ales1972I have the same issue with the cth.
I've made sure to have the power plugged into the unit before plugging in the wall socket.
Really surprised me when I saw it too..

jgp1212I don't get it. Don't you guys switch off the power before connecting a power cable?
VBarElectronics 101, make all connections BEFORE connecting to a power outlet.

ales1972this happens me too, what in the actual hell lol!
rslataraIf you aren't plugging in the power to the back of the device before you connect it to the wall you are taking a chance at frying your gear. This is a good rule of thumb for all electronics, not just the LCX. The issue here is procedural, lots of friends have fried their gear over the years not following this recommendation.

ElectronicVicesNoted I did this after that first time and it actually sparked in my Belkin surger protector which is fairly beefy.
(Edited)
rslataraYeah most manuals for devices with barrel connectors specifically tell you not to do what OP did, it's not a design flaw.
