I have the T25 in Black finish. Like the ring that protects the crystal from scratches. This new design eliminates that, presumable in effort to make the case thinner. Wonder how the sapphire crystal without this ring will compare in durability? I am disappointed in the deterioration of the finish with my watch after 13 months. I have a desk job and use another watch when I'm working around the house. But, overall, a very nice product. T25 visibility is fine

jshieldsThe rubber ring around the crystal is necessary for Armourglass because it scratches easily, much more easily than sapphire. We'll see how these look as we continue to wear and test them, but like I said in a previous post, it's exceptionally rare that we get a message from anyone reporting problems with their sapphire crystal.
Glad you dig the watch and thanks for posting these pics!

WillHi Will, we just want to clarify: 1. Armourglass does not scratch easily. Yes, sapphire is more scratch resistant, but Armourglass has a special coating that still holds its own. Armourglass is by far more scratch resistant then mineral glass. 2. The reason why most ArmourLite watches with Armourglass have the rubber ring is that it's part of the design process to properly hold the very thick Armourglass. It also provides an extra level of protection when receiving impact. 3. One of the main reasons Massdrop chose sapphire was to cut down on the overall thickness of the watch. Sapphire is a wonderful choice as we use it on all of our Isobrite watches and a large amount of our ArmourLite watches.
