Deep carry clip and rh carry only. Hard pass for me. Looks nice if it works for you though.

Jlhenry55Seriously, is it so hard to add a lh carry option? I'll have to pass on this too, sadly. I liked the design but that's a dealbreaker for me.

Jlhenry55I am a lefty but still "sorry lefties" You might wanna consider to learn how to use a knife with your right hand...

megical_bananaI have plenty of rh knives. Doesn’t mean I’m happy that they don’t at least have a place for lefty clip on them. If they aren’t at least as nice as my Curtiss F3’s or Todd Begg kwaiken, I’m not going to bother with RH only. This knife being more of a budget buy, is not worth me putting up with rh only.

TK42IAgreed, love the design but no left hand carry, i also have to pass. As far as 'learn to use your right' I had to do that in elementary school with scissors. That was 1972. Its 2018 and i'm over it. Give me ambidextrous or give me my money! Luckly, still lots of good options out there. Keep up the good collabs Massdrop. We knife guys are loving it, the lefties and the righties!

Jlhenry55I would think you'd want to practice getting yourself to a point where you're capable, if not especially proficient, deploying and using a knife with either hand, should the need arise. What is it about this knife that makes it "right hand only"? Just the clip position? Because that sounds like a pretty weak excuse. But I could be wrong. Educate me.

DataLet me clear this up. I CAN USE A KNIFE WITH MY RIGHT HAND WITH NO PROBLEMS (not specific to you Data but to everyone that says that to lefties). I prefer to carry in my left pocket because I am left handed. If this knife had a left hand carry option I would probably get it. As it is, it's not a knife that interests me with RH only carry. I bought the Tashi Bharucha collab knife because it was a beautiful knife that I wanted even though it was RH only.
I only posted this so hopefully Jonas or someone could see there is enough demand out there to start designing these knives with the ability to carry on both sides.

Jlhenry55I hear ya. Reposting my reply to @ASpatha here:
"Specifically on this one, the skeletonized handle prevents us from making the clip reversible. Generally, it's easy to flip the CAD file, but hard to reach a minimum order quantity to justify making a lefty version - especially in three colors. We get this request a lot and I'm actively looking at ways to make it possible."

JonasHeinemanYou could just make another clip wraps around the back to the other side. It would look like a big "J".
The problem is the frame lock (and liner locks), you'd have to actually make an entire left handed version of the the knife for true left handed operation. Most good knives have a bevel on the pivot for the lock bar to ride into. The bars are designed to be depressed with the thumb of the right hand. So if I was a lefty, I would be complaining more about that than the pocket clip.
Sounds like a strong need and desire for a true left handed frame lock flipper to be dropped?

Aarons_LyfeThere's definitely a group of people who would like to see this, but I don't know if there are 600+ to make it feasible. We'd really love to make it happen, but there is a reason that you don't see it done very often, even by companies that make 10x or 100x as many pieces in a production run - the actual sales of lefty models, when they have been offered, do not make sense from a manufacturing standpoint. We'll keep looking at ways to make knives reversible for left-hand carry, but left-hand opening is a whole different story.

JonasHeinemanI figured it was probably too much to ask for lefty specific when your making orders that are kind of small runs compared to some of the huge knife brands. That’s why I just asked for pocket clip option. Thanks for responding and noting the interest from us cursed lefties.
Chris Reeve does sell a lot of left handed knives though. I have nine of his lefty models with a tenth on order.

Jlhenry55If you're willing to pay $400 for one, I'm sure we could make lefty versions of almost anything. I will give Tim a call and see what % of lefties they sell, that would be a helpful data point. For this one, it's just an issue of the skeletonized frame leaving no surface to mount the clip. Whenever possible, we do make the clips reversible. Thanks for your understanding. We've been producing knives for less than a year, so there's definitely still room to grow in this area.

JonasHeinemanKizer did the Gemini as a lefty, and it's a super popular model as well.
Apparently those monsters just discontinued the Envoy, that might be another good choice for a drop in the near future.
