@JonasHeineman can you post more pictures of the clip side for each model? I wonder if the black one comes with black clip, and the blue one comes with silver clip? They can’t all have the matte finished stonewashed clip I assume? Thanks

massdrop01Is that "yay, another Chinese knife" or 'Boo, not another Chinese knife"? I just bought three knives last week. A LionSteel KUR made in Italy, a Kizer Ursa Minor made in China and a ZT 0808 made in my homeland. The LionSteel is a beautifully made knife with some unique and innovative features. Yay Italy. The ZT is a Todd Rexford design titanium frame lock flipper running on bearings as is the Kizer Ursa Minor (Ray Laconico design). The ZT and the Kizer are comparably priced, use the same steel (S35VN), the same titanium, etc. Of those two the Chinese made Kizer is every bit as well made and the fit and finish is impeccable. They both run on bearings but the Chinese made example uses ceramic bearings in a nylon cage and the ZT came with steel bearings in a brass cage (I upgraded it to ceramic) and the Kizer uses a ceramic detent ball. So for the same price the edge goes to the Chinese in materials. My only complaint is that the Kizer warranty is voided if you take the knife apart yourself (mine was voided on day two. I gotta know what makes them tick). Boo China. I think both knives are some of the best examples of the higher end, high volume production knives and I will carry both and use them with confidence. My point is that in this instance the "MADE IN CHINA" stigma is undeserved. If you have any qualms about buying from companies like Kizer and WE I think you can buy with confidence.

OkienuanJust a random thing: while kizers warranty DOES state that it is voided by disassembly, they are pretty loose about that. I have received replacement parts from them and even been instructed by them to disassemble one of their knives to fix it. I have disassembled every kizer I have owned and never had any issues with getting warranty repairs. However dealing with their warranty department can be a hassle, it takes awhile for parts to ship from China and they are hit and miss with communication.

InkyQuillsI too disassemble every knife I own and never concern myself with warranties. It just seems weird to me that some companies discourage buyers from maintaining their tools. I suspect there are lawyers involved. 😎

InkyQuillsSo they're good to go, they just require a little patience and respect due to the language barrier and geographical separation?

OmniseedPretty much yeah, they're decent with their English but not perfect. Mainly I was talking about their response times. I've had probably close to 20 emails with them back and forth and probably around 1 out of 5 that I send doesnt get a response so ill have to resend it after a couple days.

OkienuanMost companies with those policies only invoke them when someone sends them a pile of ruined parts obviously caused by the user. It's common practice.

OkienuanAs a lawyer, I love my knives and to maintain them. I disassembled most of my knives :) I don't think much about warranty as I live in Turkey and I cannot ship them back to USA for maintenance.
