Just a reminder that all flipper style knives are illegal to import into Canada. The CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency) will confiscate any flipper knives as prohibited weapons (Custome Notice 18-01, Section 2b). https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/cn-ad/cn18-01-eng.html

RayLHey @RayL - We have not seen any increase in seizures of flippers mailed to members in Canada due to this customs regulation change. Our policy is that if we offer shipping to your country, we will issue a full refund to any member whose knife is seized.

JonasHeinemanThanks Jonas, that's a great policy and much appreciated. I'm certainly not saying I agree with the CBSA ruling, I just wanted to let Canadians (and anyone visiting Canada) know that you can't bring them across the border whether in a shipment, by car etc. They are also perfectly legal to own, carry and use in Canada, just not cross the border.

RayLJust an FYI to Canadians. I have ordered many (10+) flippers from Massdrop and none have been inspected at the border. These days I only order flippers from the US using Massdrop since it appears they fly under the radar.
I have had several packages from retailers like knifecenter.com opened at the border though. Luckily they were fixed blade or Spyderco and nothing was seized. A few years ago CBSA did seize a Benchmade Griptilian, which is a joke if you ask me. They hold the axis lock open then snap the blade out with a flick and call it a gravity knife.

YorgiThanks Yorgi. I'm sure a lot depends on the description and customs clasification submitted by the vendor when the package is shipped.

YorgiI just don't understand why countries like Canada do this. I grieve for you and your aficionado Brother's up north. I’m glad the U.S. is more liberal on such matters. Probably one of the few examples of Liberalism I appreciate in this country. We can buy knives from you but not the other way around.

stoutdogMost people that I know with liberal leanings are in favor of disarming to population. I suppose if they wished to created total dependence upon the government, they could disleg us.

14themoneyNo doubt about that! I have lived through some of the greatest and most prosperous years my country has ever offered. I am saddened and hurt for future generations as I see my fellow citizen’s bring on the decay into Socialism. It is so contrary to the world I grew up in and so far from the rugged individualism that founded our two countries that grew up together. I am dinosaur on the verge of extinction. I am writing my ideas about life that I will be giving to my Grandson for his high school graduation.

stoutdogIt's the border service trying to increase their powers. They weren't this bad before.
That, and they like cool toys....

YorgiDamn, being a Texan, it boils my blood just imagining a world where other people decide what kind of knife or gun I can own. It's bullshit. I'm glad I only have to imagine such a place and not live in one (so far).

NarqHaving lived in Texas, I appreciate and subscribe to the real Texan mindset. If I didn't live in Utah, I might live in Texas, Idaho, Wyoming or Montana. I like the wide open spaces and rugged individualism of the country folks.

stoutdog"I’m glad the U.S. is more liberal on such matters. Probably one of the few examples of Liberalism I appreciate in this country. We can buy knives from you but not the other way around." I think you might be mixing up the ideologies of Libertarians (freedom FROM government) with Liberals (freedom THROUGH government).

NarqIf that's what I conveyed, it wasn't meant that way. I am definitely a freedom loving American and Libertarian in my political thought.

stoutdogI figured you meant Libertarian. I was just trying to clarify the terminology.
