2 things....the first. LEFT HANDED sheath! Please! I mean sure we only make up 10% of the population, but there are also people that want to carry a knife on their weak side. So please offer left handed sheaths.
second...ugh that "guard" guards that go below the edge are so frustrating. They just get in the way.
Oh and third...please get the micarta in non coated blades.
Thanks!

DBSSI think you'd be fine just turning the knife over and reversing the direction of the plastic insert - it fits fine that way, and the leather will mould to the handle shape over time, or faster with some help if you use some pressure/oil to form it. Thanks for the feedback on guard and finishes.
EDITED: You can also get a dedicated left-handed sheath direct from Bradford, they are $10.

DBSSI agree - a left-handed sheath option is a must. Bradford themselves offer it as a no-cost option for the Guardian 3's so I would hope it would be available for the 3.5's.

DBSSI followed up on this with Brad, and here's what I heard back:
The guard is the new retention spot for the leather sheath. This makes for a much longer sheath life than on the original Guardian 3, and great for the small-of the back carry so you don't cut your finger.
I can attest to both of these from personal use - I carry a G3 on my pack when I go hiking or backpacking, and I love it but the sheath has deteriorated a bit. On the second point, I tried this G3.5 on the back of my belt and that was my favorite position, and I'm glad you can reach for it in a place you can't see the blade without having to worry if your finger will slide past the guard and onto the blade.
I see your point about the geometry and why you might prefer it another way, but I wanted to let you know that I followed up and got some answers that seem pretty reasonable as to the intentions behind the design.
