Im very interested to know the hrc rating he will be treating these too. I am in the buy for the perpetua and id love to compare the perpetuas 59 hrc to a much higher hardness guardian. Since we are new to this steel i think many of us would like to get in on this buy just to see how the steel performs in both forms and most im sure want to know the hrc these will shoot for. thanks

CaptainScratchyI talked to the folks at NJ Steel Baron and Bradford; they'll be directing Peter's Heat Treat to take this steel to 59-50 HRc.

CaptainScratchyThat's awesome, until you have to sharpen it - but I don't think most folks really want to sharpen 64 HRc steel. Open to hearing yours and other members' thoughts on this - that doesn't mean we're changing the specs of this knife, just trying to understand general preferences and practices.

JonasHeinemanyes as a knife hobbyest i like to find out how steels perform and act under sharpening and use at differant extreams. being in on the perpetua id love to see this one at a higher range so I can see feel and test that difference.
