Updated 10/11 Hi Everyone - The shoes have made it through quality control and we are now preparing the Carminas for shipment! We are on track to ship by 10/20. Thanks again for patience with this drop - we’re looking forward to you all receiving your shoes and seeing your pics of them.

UPDATE 10/6: Hi All -
We have a quick update for everyone. The shoes have arrived at our warehouse and we are beginning the quality control check process. There was a slight delay in customs, as well as a delay during the receiving process due to ambiguous size labeling. As of now we are on track to start shipping out on 10/20.
The team is doing everything they can to get the shoes shipped out by 10/20, and we’ll provide an update once quality control check is complete.
In the meantime, there are some pics from the warehouse:

UPDATE 9/26:
Hey all -
The shoes are on track to hit our warehouse this week from Spain, and thus we are still expecting to fall into the 2-4 week delay period for them to get shipped out (10/6-10/20) with the team expecting for things to start shipping around the middle of that period.
The main next steps are going to be getting through customs and to our warehouse and then receiving (quality control check). As long as no issues come up in those two steps we'll land in the above range.
There have also been a couple requests for pictures. We unfortunately haven't gotten any from Carmina to share yet, but I'll follow-up if we do get them - and if not, we'll aim to get some from the warehouse later this week or early next.
Next update on or by: 10/6
------ Hey all - I wanted to provide an (overdue) update. There was a delay in shipment to our warehouse, and currently the shoes are being ferried from the island where they were made to mainland Spain for air shipment to Massdrop. This is resulting in an estimated delay of 2-4 weeks - unfortunately, we won’t have a better grasp for a few days on how long the delay will be until the shipment actually gets off the boat. We’ll let you know once we have more concrete information. I’m sorry for the delay in shipping time, but even more sorry for the lack of communication leading up to this delay. Delays happen (sometimes from things outside of our control, sometimes due to processes we can improve), but it’s up to us to be communicative, transparent, and consistent in providing you with updates - and we failed on all 3 fronts here. We should have gotten you this update earlier. I’m personally working on updating our communications process, and will be working with our logistics team to make sure we give consistent updates on this drop and future drops. Thanks for the patience. Next update on or by: 9/26

bradrI'm not looking to blame anyone - things happen. Can you help me understand how a ferry trip from Majorca to presumably Barcelona results in a 2-4 week delay, rather than a few days at most?
My hope is that this is just a few kinks getting worked out, rather than a sign that Massdrop or Carmina can't uphold their end of things. Assuming the shoes are Carmina's usual quality, I think a lot of people would love to see this collaboration continue.

bradr I am disappointed for the lack of updates. In light of the delay, please show us some production photos of the shoes, as several members have requested. Thanks.

bradrPresume you're offering the option to cancel orders given delay and lack of communication, but please confirm.

PiedmontHey @Piedmont - the ferry trip is not the cause of the delay, but rather where the shoes are physically at right now. They should have been well past this step and already in our warehouse for processing and shipping. There is always some uncertainty with the shipping process internationally for these types of products (which is exacerbated when delays happen), but normally that would be accounted for in the scheduling of original ship time. Unfortunately, because they're delayed, we don't know exactly when they'll hit each step on the way to the warehouse leading to the uncertainty above. What I meant to convey above is that when they hit the warehouse on the mainland and are scheduled for a flight with a concrete arrival time in the USA, we'll have more visibility into when they'll get out (though there still may be a range with how customs and logistics plays out).

ebw1@ebw1 - I don't know for sure if that's been made possible for this drop, but if you are interested please create a ticket with support and they should be able to take care of you.

ZZ_UPennHey ZZ - I asked my team last week, and they said they didn't have any from Carmina already, but that they were going to ask for them in their next conversation this week, so hoping I'll be able to get some later this week or early next.

bradrStill no photos? I have to say the experience with this transaction is not good. Don't promise something that you can not deliver. Hopefully the shoes are made to high standards, so that they are worth the extra wait.

ZZ_UPennAsk and you shall receive! (albeit a bit late.. sorry about that. To be fair, I asked the team for photos as soon as I was looped into this conversation, though I know we should have had some earlier, and unfortunately we couldn't get any from Carmina - but once they hit our warehouse I was able to get them.)

bradrThanks for getting back to me. I was more interested in production photos when shoes are made. Yes, these look very nice, even though I ordered black. When will these be shipped out to us?

bradrMuch darker than the photos on the description page I am hoping it was just the camera and lighting that made it look so dark.

bradrI know you're working with what you've got, but throw us some bones here - these "proof of life" pictures aren't very enticing. How about telling us more about the shoes?
Can you tell us the breakdown of colors and widths ordered? Any other interesting facts about the production and shipping (e.g. if 90% of the shoes were ordered by people in Alaska, whether any of the boxes contains a Golden Ticket, etc.)? If Massdrop hadn't done this style and last, what other options were being considered?

PiedmontWell, I'm glad there's proof of life, at least, and that the shoes are in Massdrop's hands so we're more likely to see them sooner rather than later had they still been in Spain. Just looking forward to my pair at this point and closing this drop out. If they do another one I hope both Carmina and Massdrop do better on the communication front (or at least, maybe, don't over-promise), because at least the price point for everything we get here was pretty amazing.

bradrMan the more I look at them the more to dark they look. I have put your pic up side by side with the drop pic on the description page and with the Carmina site and your pics are much darker. I am really hoping it is your lighting and camera but if when I receive them they are as dark as the pics if anyone wants to buy US10 for what I paid let me know as I have no use for dark brown in my rotation.

bradrIt is def darker than the marketing images for the listing. But I suppose I will wait until mine arrives to see it in person. Shame really... But I have seen a lot of leather shoes from Mass Drop looking very different from final production. Take for instance the Oak Street Trench Boots in natural. So it appears that the images represent an estimate as to what your product will look like instead of an exact representation, because if the shoes were treated to a shine and wax job, it should be stated so and the process to achieve said color and tone variation. I say this out of experience from another listing. What came in the box was a far cry from the listed images for marketing. It was a disappointment after spending so much money, but overtime it darkened and looks better. Btw, I nabbed the not as nice looking image from a review site. I can post mine up as well, but that would require me to get up and snap photos lol.

bradrSo you held a pair of 8EE shoes in your hand and didn't realize they were UK size? Or just didn't think to check them? I would bet that particular shoe's paperwork says 8D.
