Can you have both the inner and fly pitched separately?
Can you connect the inner to the fly so when you pitch the whole tent it works as if it was just one piece?
I'm asking because I want to set the tent while it's raining heavily.
OrCohenYes it pitches as one piece. It's ideal for pitching during heavy rain. The inner can stay clipped inside the fly so it is in place when the fly is pitched and stays totally dry. The inner has clips at the 4 corners and then small buckles at the peaks, so it easily connects and disconnects.
OrCohenYeah you can pitch the inner on it's own. You'd need to remove the peak guylines from the fly and connect them to the inner (tie them below the buckles on the inner peaks) and then use clove hitches or a loop to connect to the pole tip. The inner doesn't have loops/grommets for the pole tips because I wanted to keep it light, so a little skill is involved, but it's easy to do if you can tie a clove hitch.
