UncleBob18DShe is also a military veteran. I have used mine in snow and foul weather. It works very well and is very light.
Lightheart stands behind their products.
UncleBob18DJust recently. Previous versions were outsourced to China. The downsides of the Lightgear shelters is that the poles are at an angle which nullifies exceptional wet snow loading capabilities (think shoulder season), they are single wall hybrids and so cannot pack away a dry inner tent away from a wet fly, and you have to pack your poles inside your shelter vs. just inside the fly. Mids are vastly superior in inclement weather.
cadureLightheart has always been manufactured in Asheville, NC (USA). They stand behind their products.
I have had mine in moderate snow on the southern end of the AT (not Canadian outback). It hasn’t failed me yet. Highly pleased with product and service.
cadureI stand corrected. I have had mine for several years and only knew them to be made in NC. However, it is not outsourced any more. I support USA‘s workers and businesses whenever possible
Thank you for your time and research. Happy hiking!
